Back to winning ways this weekend, and not before time! Though this game wasn’t without its scares we were by far the better team.

Defending well form the start, we were massively unlucky to be 1 down after 15 minutes, as a game of head tennis ended up with a really great strike 30 yards out beating the clearing header of our ‘keeper. Fortunately we didn’t fold or loose our heads and we got back to level terms in fairly short order. It’s interesting that some of our moaning didn’t happen, and the game turned around? I wonder…… Good pressing play got us into the area and Kieran applied the necessary, leveling for the Rotten.

Starting the second half, I couldn’t have wished for a better push than an instant goal. Diego laying off superbly for Alky to dance into the box, where the Jigsaw can sometimes happen! No such result this time, as a composed placed ball into the bottom right corner left the goalie cursing and the Rotten dancing. The drought is over! More pressing saw the newly subbed on Machine force a defender to loop one over his ‘keeper with some good work from Danny Rose in close attendance. 3-1.

Now follows a an excerpt basketball report from the Hemel Gadebridge Stealers website:

“The Gadebridge Stealers travelled to ye oldie dimly lit bowl for this weekends extravaganza. Down in the 2nd period 3 to 1, Chevy Chavy of the Hemel trailer park caught onto a deepfield play, double dribbling to the line where Stevie Pinchit was able to convert from a whole yard out – man what a play.”

Suffice to say yours truly was not impressed and I picked up a card and £10 fine for expressing my displeasure to the myopic ref, who was the only person in the village managing to not see the handball – twat! My rancor was however reduced somewhat by my now almost obligatory winning of the football card!

See you all next time! Until then……

Keep it Rotten.
