Salisbury go straight on the attack, and the shot goes past the post. However Purton quickly got into the match. The Purton wide boys Louis and Toby were causing some anxious moments for Salisbury. A clearance from Andy sets Toby off, but can’t quite convert the chance. Toby again, puts the ball across the Salisbury goal which is cleared away for a corner.  Louis on the break, one on one with Salisbury goalie, who deflects the shot, sadly Charlie can't get to rebound.

Charlie down wing, this time, has his cross cleared for a corner. A bad goal kick from the Salisbury goalie, Toby pounces but again unable to convert.

Half time 0-0

A very tight match with Purton edging it and creating the better chances.

Second half, and Salisbury come out with a bit more determination and were beginning to put Purton under a bit more pressure.

Matty puts high ball into the box although Charlie gets a touch, but not enough to cause any the goalkeeper any problems.

Ryan releases Louis but is ruled offside

Salisbury continue to apply the pressure, a cross into the Purton box but takes two attempts to kill the ball. The Purton defence had kept Salisbury at bay with really only one direct attempt on goal but 20 minutes into the half 2 errors in two minutes proved costly as Salisbury went 2 nil up.

Jay comes on for  Fraser after 63 mins. Salisbury win a free kick and hits the Purton cross bar. However the Purton lads kept going, Matt wins a free kick but doesn’t clear the wall.

Salisbury go on the break, but a well-timed tackle by Andrew, prevents the attack going any further.

75 mins sub James Denton for Jake.

Purton win a free kick which Charlie takes, and brings out a good save from the Salisbury goalie. It just wasn’t to be Purton’s day.

The match finished 2 nil to Salisbury who go to the Wiltshire County Cup Final. For Purton it was a match of missed chances in the first half where they edged out Salisbury. Second half Salisbury took advantage of two errors in an evenly fought half.
