Matchday 3 of the Walsall Challenge Cup saw Q Bar visit Local rivals Cellar Door. After last weeks lacklustre display against Trent Valley, the Spartans were looking to put on a solid performance.

Once again the game started with a bang for Q bar, and they opened the scoring within 5 minutes. Aaron Evans slipped a ball through to Farnell whose shot was saved, it fell to Sean Talbot who again had his effort blocked on the line before it fell to skipper Tom Clews to blast the ball home from close range. Although it was 5 yards out the finish was emphatic.

the Spartans began to control the game then the back four of Tom Clarkson, Mike Evans, Olly Oakley and Craig petty were handling anything thrown at them. The ability to soak up any pressure helped the attack flourish. the 2nd goal came just after the 10 minute mark. hard work in the middle from Ste Smith got him space where she played a inch perfect ball over the back four into Aaron Evan's path, as the ball was bouncing the keeper came rushing out, leaving Aaron to dink the ball over the keeper into the empty net.

It was then 3-0 shortly after, Weller played the ball into Ste Smith's path who then curled a ball into Clews's feet. With one touch he set it in front of himself on the right hand side of the box, before shrugging of a defender and drilled it into the bottom right hand corner. Spartan's were feeling ruthless this week and made it 4 shortly after. Clews started the attack bursting through the middle before sliding a through ball to Talbot. Sean then drifted past 1 player before laying it off to Tom Farnell. Farnell then on the edge of the box, with his back to goal touched the ball to one side, span and chipped the ball over the keeper and into the top of the net finishing a great move with a great finish.

Just before half time it bcame 5-0. Cellar Door gave away a carless free kick on the edge of the box. Aaron Evans stepped up and beautifully curled the ball around the wall of the post and in.

Second halh started in a similar fashion. Spartans again started on the front foot. They turned this into another goal on the 50 minute mark with possibly the goal of the game. Aaron Evans picked the ball up on the left before chipping the ball into the middle to find Clews, on for his Hat Trick he controlled the ball so it lay just in front of him before from 30 yards out drilled the ball into the top left hand corner a truly sensational effort. Cellar Door then seemed to wake up and made it 6-1 from a direct free kick after the striker dived as though he had been shot by a sniper. the 6 goal advantage was restored when Evan turned provider again slipping Weller through to expertley chip the ball over the on rushing keeper to make it 7.

Cellar Door made it 7-2 with a close range header. Weller then scored the eighth, Jamie Smith picked up the ball at Right back and lofted in a beautiful ball for Lyndon to rise above the rest and nod past the keeper. Cellar Door scored late on to make it 8-3.

Possibly the most shocking decision of the game was when Marc Riggan aka Big pea was released on goal by weller, there he slid the ball home but it was disallowed by a ref 7000 yards away, the linesman didn't even have his flag up. the whole thing was a farce #justiceforbigpea we are currently looking into having the official banned from all footballing matters anywhere because of this.
