What a class team performance today from the Rosehill lads.

Playing away today at Buckingham Park Rosehill went into the game having won their last 2 games and were hoping for a 3rd straight win today. Team spirit was good today after the last 2 wins.

Rosehill started off quiet once again but after 15 minutes started to play their slick passing football and some great moves were put together.

The front two missed a number of chances that they would normally have converted with ease but even if things were not going well they still kept their heads up.

Rosehill hit the post twice in the first half and Sharpy once again hit the bar, if the posts were round instead of square 2 out of the 3 would have gone in. Rosehill continued to press forward with 6 up for the break. The final ball was also missing in the first half and Rosehill went into the break 0 - 0. Lancing did get the ball in the net but it was ruled offside by theor linesman whivh was a good decision.

In the second half Lancing had a couple of chances and pressed forward. Our defence held them at bay aith some class defending but still some work to do with the new formation.

The last 3rd of the game was all Rosehill and the chances started to come again and Walker scored a tap in folowing a team move on 80 minutes. On 82 minutes Rosehill did not clear the ball and went to a player outside the box who rifled the ball in giving Adam no chance. In fact Adam had little to do throughout the game which means the defence is holding firm but there is still room for improvement.

After the goal Rosehill normally go on the back foot and heads drop but in the last 3 games have just been so focussed and with the team morale and spirit so high carried on playing their style of play. Encouragement from Newman, Emmet and Stonham was vocal and Rosehill had to score to get the 3 points in the last 6 minutes.

On 85 minutes following some good work by Shrubb saw the ball go across the box for Walker to score again. Rosehill defended well and then on another break saw their 3rd goal following another team move converted by Stoonham.

The celebrations after the goals were great and just shows how much Rosehill believe in themselves now.

Not one player had a bad game today with Chris, Max, Mark D and Newman playing the formation very well. The midfield of Sharpy, Dan K, Shrubb and Jamie were class and were always forst to the ball. Stonham and Walker up front once again linked up well, better in the second half than the first. They will be the first to say their first halfs were not up to their usual standards but in the second they showed why they are a formidable partnership.

Rosehill defended corners well for a change and Rosehill corners were all good for a change. A new weapon was unveiled today which was the Rory "Shrubby" Delap throw which caused the Lancing players some problems.

Jamie K had one of his best games today as did Mark D and Dan K was also running everywhere. Lewis who came on as substitute showed the form he had at the start of last season and hope it continues. Tom Cotty playing his first game was good on the ball and showed his commitment to Rosehill turning up for the game even though a member of his family was taken ill.

Onto next week and a home game against Knoll FC could see Rosehill topping the table.

A great performance by everyone and I mean everyone!!!!!

Was it the ISOTONIC that worked wonders or did that just help and was really down to good tactics, a good solid team formation and the will to WIN? I am sure it was not the ISOTONIC.

Thanks to Hannah for bringing the oranges as well.

Class lads keep it up and keep that motivation and keep that team spirit going !!!

Quote of the day - " Shrubby get some isotonic down you if you got cramp" Tony

Cheers lads see you at training on Tuesday.
