Home league match played on 30 August 2014.
Kicked off at 2:30 PM

2 minutes extra time played.

The first game of the new season and with a bumper crowd due to the late postponment of the seconds game saw the 1sts want to get of to a good start. The brand new tactics of van carl were played for the first time a 2-5-1-2 formation. LOL

Resolven started the brighter creating the better chances, with stich, glen and wheeler having some half chances. The 1st goal of the game though came from an early long kick from goalkeeper speedy after a park travs set piece, the ball heading towards glen with the defender tight to him and both missed the ball and with wheeler gambling on that there was a fity-fifty race with the keeper with wheeler just getting to the ball ahead of him to knock the ball goalwards and with the defender chasing back wheeler diving headed the ball home 1-0 with abit of argey bargey with the defender in the nets after a banter clebebration rub of the bald head!

The lead lasted barely 3minutes when park travs scored with a free header from a corner. Thier main threat looking asif it will be from set pieces with lack of height and poor marking. 1-1

10minutes later and resolven take the lead again through wheeler when a cross from glen from the right finds the striker unmarked in the box and an early take on the volley sees the ball go past the keeper and hitting the post and with momentum taking wheeler past the grounded keeper it was an easy tap in from 2yards. They all count. 2-1

From the kick off park travs nippy winger picked up the ball and went on a mazey run down the left drawing a foul. from the resulting free kick the ball fell nicely the their centre midfielder who swivvled and got a low shot away past speedy from 6yards. 2-2

In the 37th minute resolven should have deffenetly taking the lead when stteffan won a lose ball in the middle played the ball wide to wheeler who played a neat one-two with steffan to break free into the box and with the keeper to beat from a difficult angle the square ball (jew goal, sweaty goal in fifa) to glen who from 5yards out and open goal infront of him seemed destined to open his account for the season, THINK AGAIN... the ball goes flying over the bar and was later seen bouncing past the vaughns.

Half time 2-2

(substitution: J.lewis on for the injured J.Bwtt)

The 2nd half got off to quite a sluggish start with both teams not keeping the ball well or making much threat to the opposition.

after about 10-1mins park travs were to take the lead from yet another set piece when the centre mid scored his second with a weak free header into the corner of the net. 2-3

(substitution: S.Davies on for M.Griffiths)

Sean making some good testing runs down the wing when eventually he won a free kick and steffan stepped up and curled a beauty of a shot right in to the corner of the woodwork with the keeper beaten.

(Substitution: E.Morgan on for A.Wheeler)

The remainder of the game was resolven looking for an equaliser bar the odd counter attack or set piece from park travs, with the boys not quite managing to break down the park travs defence who seemed happy to set up shop and defend for the remiander of the game. After some good play from the front men the ball found its way out wide and a great ball whipped across the face of the goal and again glen looking like he was going to tap in at the back post but the ball having come through a group of players got caught up in his feet and then a goal mouth scramble finally saw the ball cleared.

Not a bad start but plenty to improve on.

Final Score 2-3
