On 7 October 2026, RIT Dubai welcomed Athletica FC to the HCT for a friendly 11-a-side encounter that kicked off at 7:45pm. The hosts produced a scintillating display to run out comfortable 7-2 winners in a match that showcased attacking verve and defensive solidity in equal measure.

RIT Dubai lined up in a 3-1-4-2 formation, deploying three defenders at the back with a solitary central midfielder shielding the defence. Abdulkarim AlSafadi started in goal, protected by a back three comprising Aws Dashash on the right, Mohsin Ayaz centrally, and Saif edin Abu Sneineh on the left. Mohamed Hazza took the lone central midfield role, tasked with breaking up play and linking defence to attack. Ahead of him, the midfield quartet featured Artur Farhutdinov on the right attacking midfield, Mohammad AlSayyed and Mohamed Saif occupying central attacking midfield positions, and Abdellah Jemal on the left attacking midfield. Up front, Saeed Alhashemi operated as the right forward with Hazza Yateem leading the line on the left forward spot. The substitutes bench included Nariman Samani, Abraham Deepu, Youssef Fahem, Khaled Yaghi, Abdelhamid Darweesh, and Azmi Khaled.

The match began with early intensity, and within three minutes, RIT Dubai’s right defender Aws Dashash was booked for a foul. Moments later, goalkeeper Abdulkarim AlSafadi was called into action, making a crucial dive at the feet of an Athletica FC attacker to deny an early chance. The physicality of the game was evident as Hazza Yateem committed a foul in the 10th minute, which was quickly followed by an offside flag against Artur Farhutdinov.

Aws Dashash then attempted an ambitious effort in the 11th minute, but his shot sailed high over the bar. The breakthrough came in the 15th minute when Hazza Yateem capitalised on a long pass from Artur Farhutdinov, slotting home inside the box with his right foot to give RIT Dubai the lead. The hosts continued to press, and Saeed Alhashemi was shown to be an aggressive presence, committing a foul in the 20th minute.

RIT Dubai dominated the attacking play around the 25th minute with multiple attempts being blocked. Saeed Alhashemi twice saw his efforts denied, while Hazza Yateem and Abdellah Jemal also had their shots blocked, signalling a sustained period of pressure. The persistence paid off immediately after, as Hazza Yateem doubled the lead in the 26th minute with a spectacular screamer, assisted by a short pass from Mohammad AlSayyed, fired with his left foot.

Artur Farhutdinov was denied by the goalkeeper in the 27th minute, but the hosts’ attacking momentum was undeterred. The physical nature of the contest continued with fouls from Hazza Yateem, Mohamed Saif, and even substitute Abraham Deepu all occurring in the 34th minute. Saeed Alhashemi was booked for another foul two minutes later.

As the first half neared its close, Abdulkarim AlSafadi produced a fine double save in the 40th minute, first parrying a shot and then diving at the attacker’s feet to keep the clean sheet intact. Mohammad AlSayyed’s wide attempt in the 42nd minute was one of the few moments of respite for Athletica FC.

RIT Dubai made a flurry of substitutions just before half time, with Nariman Samani replacing Abdellah Jemal, Khaled Yaghi coming on for Mohamed Saif, Youssef Fahem taking over in goal from Abdulkarim AlSafadi, and Abraham Deepu entering the fray for Saif edin Abu Sneineh. Mohamed Hazza was also booked for a foul in the 45th minute.

Despite the changes, the hosts struck again before the break. In the 45th minute, Mohammad AlSayyed scored from close range inside the box, finishing with his right foot following a short pass from Artur Farhutdinov. This goal extended RIT Dubai’s advantage to 3-0 at the interval.

The second half saw RIT Dubai continue their dominance. Saeed Alhashemi’s shot was saved early on in the 48th minute, but he made no mistake two minutes later, converting a left-footed finish inside the box after a neat short pass from Hazza Yateem. This goal pushed the scoreline to 4-0.

Substitutions continued with Abdelhamid Darweesh replacing Aws Dashash in the 50th minute. The game’s physicality remained as Mohamed Hazza committed another foul in the 56th minute, followed by Saeed Alhashemi’s foul in the 59th minute. Mohamed Hazza was then substituted off for Azmi Khaled in the 60th minute.

Athletica FC managed to get on the scoresheet through an own goal in the 61st minute, an unfortunate strike from outside the box deflecting off a RIT Dubai player’s right foot. Khaled Yaghi had a high attempt in the 65th minute, while Saeed Alhashemi saw another effort saved in the 67th minute.

Further substitutions saw Aws Dashash return to the pitch in place of Mohsin Ayaz, and Abdellah Jemal replaced Artur Farhutdinov both in the 68th minute. Nariman Samani was shown to have committed a foul in the 76th minute, but RIT Dubai’s attacking threat remained potent.

Hazza Yateem’s shot was saved in the 76th minute, but he made amends two minutes later by scoring his third goal of the evening, finishing with his right foot inside the box after a clever flick from Saeed Alhashemi. This goal took the score to 6-1.

Shortly after, Hazza Yateem was substituted off for Saif edin Abu Sneineh in the 79th minute. Another own goal from Athletica FC followed in the 80th minute, again from outside the box and off the right foot, making the score 7-1.

Azmi Khaled had a high attempt in the 86th minute, and Nariman Samani provided the assist for Saeed Alhashemi’s goal in the 89th minute, a well-worked team move finished with a right-footed strike. This marked Alhashemi’s second goal of the half and the eighth for RIT Dubai.

Youssef Fahem made a full-stretch save in the 91st minute to deny Athletica FC a consolation, but the visitors did manage to score a second own goal in the 80th minute, compounding their defensive woes.

In stoppage time, Saeed Alhashemi completed his hat-trick with a close-range tap-in, assisted by Mohammad AlSayyed’s short pass, sealing a comprehensive 7-2 victory for RIT Dubai. Saif edin Abu Sneineh also had a late saved attempt in the 93rd minute.

Hazza Yateem was deservedly named player of the match after his influential performance, scoring a hat-trick and consistently troubling the opposition defence. RIT Dubai’s attacking prowess and tactical discipline were on full display in this emphatic friendly triumph.
