Away league match played on 11 September 2010.
Kicked off at 4:30 PM

This week Rowfant Travelled to the small village of Ockley. Still in a buoyant spirit after the first game, it seemed like we were still celebrating as the whistle blew for this game and Ockley were more alert and up for this game or maybe we thought we would have an easy game.

Ockley started off aggressively and were starting to threaten our goal, a long ball over the top saw Ockley’s number 9 through on goal with Julio using his experience to bring down the striker but only for the ref to wave play on.  We fell behind after 20mins which seemed to wake us up as we started to play a bit of football, with some great wing play from Ben he managed to squeeze a perfect cross setting up Louis to equalize as he slotted into the bottom corner.  We looked the stronger side as the first half came to an end.

We started the 2nd half much brighter than the first and were now looking more like the team from last week. With Jamie and Louis leading the line well we forced a few corners as we went In search of the next goal, with the pressure building on Ockley we did not need to wait long for the next goal though as Jamie was played in and hit the onion bag (no sign of the squirrel he aimed at last week!).

Ockley were still in the game though and they were causing some problems with the long ball, which our defence dealt with well until a mix up let in Ockley to level the scores. We seemed to panic a bit then and Ockley were pressing, with Tony the pick of the defence who had to mark a very aggressive winger who seemed only to be interested in mauling the Rowfant players.

With time running out the team needed reenergizing and with that Rowfant made a few changes. Rowfant started to build the pressure again, Dre hit the bar from a corner which lead to a scramble only for Cole to a miss a header from 3 yards.

Ockley seemed to wake up from the corner and tried going for the win and Rowfant started to panic again with Glenbo bringing down their winger with a kick that Bruce Lee would have been proud of, Ockley then hit the bar from the free kick.

This again turned the game as we went looking for the winner, Dre coming close with a free kick that the keeper only just tipped over the bar. As the clock was ticking towards the end it was looking like we may just get the draw but TC had other ideas as he went on a storming run playing a 1-2 with Cole and then unleashing a monstrous strike into the top corner from 30 yards. Another 3 points this week and we had to work hard for them. Well done everyone
