Home league match played on 25 September 2016.
Kicked off at 10:00 AM

After losoing last week the Colts were keen to get firging again.

Some of the coaches and dads were golfing so missed training but another dad stepped in to help out. Another great display of Colts team work.

It was a lovely day for football and with the Colts having a full line up for the first time this season, the managers had to ensure their maths were right and everyone got game time.

Firm instructions kept the Colts in line during warm up and with a busy crowd the game kicked off.

Finn was in early and realy should have scored but his shot was well saved. Not the only save their keeper made, a real contender for man of the match.

George made an early show of intent flying down the wing and Cole showed he had wanted to influence the game and strode forward with real confidence early on.

Matty P was in defence and he made a lovely pass out to Finn who put George in and after a strong run his sot was saved.

From the Corner, whipped in a scamble allowed an alert George to poke home. 1-0

Cole played in a more advanced role and picked up alot of ball. He made a great pass into Freddie up the line who played it onto George and Finn who were dartign up the line in front of him.

Cole had to soon track back and nealry ran the length of the field to chase down and tackle an advancing JNR player. Matty P had taken a great position in cover.

Freddie lost his bearings in centre mid and with the ball going over his head, stuck a hand up and gave away a freekick that he and the rest of the lads thought was very funny.

Matty P kepy the JNRs at bay and having won the ball did the simple things by playing in Freddie.

Zen had had a quient first period in the game but he had to stay alive as he raced of his line and made a strong save before kicking out brilliantly to set the Colts off again.

The next passage of play saw Cole pass to Freddie who kept the ball well before settgin up Matty J to scramble the ball home 2-0

A quick turn round saw the Colts fly into the second period and from an ealry corner Will was sharp in poking home. 3-0

George remained strong down the left flank safe that behind him Jacob was keeping a great position and snuffed out any JNR attack. Both Cole and Jacob were strong in the tackle.

From one such tackle George was able to get a shot off which was just wide.

Jack playing up front showed his usual commitment in battling for the ball and was unlukcy not to score. He drew another good save from the JNR keeper and they defended well as the ball scrambled around their box. On another day it may have been scrambled home.

George was back on the score sheet with a usual strong run. 4-0.

Jnrs were quick to fit back and with the Colts plying slightly too high a great individual goal saw them pull one back. 4-1.

Into the next quarter and the JNRs nicked another goal with a breack of the ball 4-2.

Zen was back in action making a smart save and from his kick he was able to send Ryan on his way wos shot/cross tickled the bar.

Colts then showed some real maturity and from a corner they took it short to Ryan who had shouted for the ball on the edge of the boc, unmarked he took it out his feet and strucka strong low drive to make it 5-2.

The colts showed even more matuirty when Freddie, facing his own keeper made a clever back pass to Zen.

Matty P was now in midfield and he set up Finn who put in Ryan. His shot was saved but Finn had continud his run and was able to poke home. 6-2.

Freddie had to be brave after he took an elbow but was soon back on his feet.

Into the last quarter and the Colts continued to knock the ball about.

Zen made some great saves.

The game drew to a close with the JNRs on the attack, one strong run saw them claw a goal back to make it 6-3.

Shortly after, Zen was caught out of positon as the Colts tried to play out from the back and the game closed with JNRs making it 6-4.
