Home league match played on 17 April 2010.
Kicked off at 12:00 AM

The weather was nice and warm for this game and the pitch in perfect condition, the lads all turned up on time and were ready for the game.

Claydon had a bright start and won a corner in the 2nd minute but the ball in was easily dealt with by Jack and the danger was over. The lads then started to take the game to Claydon but with some poor finishing and shooting the ball straight at the keeper it was not until the 8th minute when we got the 1st goal. Claydon won a free kick in the Sax half but John won the ball form the kick and played a long ball up to George. George controlled the ball well on his left foot and turned the defender he struck a great shot from 28yards that went in off the underside of the crossbar giving the keeper no chance a great finish from George. We had some more great chances in the 1st half but they all went either just wide, over or straight at the keeper. The lads looked comfortable on the ball but were not showing the quality in the final third. But with lots of changes being made it was difficult for them to settle.

Half time Sax 1-0 Claydon.

We again made changes at half time and the lads were all fine with this as they know that in games where we have the chance to do this it gives everyone a game. We had to wait until the 55th minute before we got number 2 Sax won a corner and Arron put a lovely ball in Sam made a run into the box and got a free header for his 1st goal of the season another move from the training ground! On 60 Luke got number 3 with a great shot after a run down the left and he was involved in the 4th after his shot went across the box and Ed tapped it back across goal for Tom to smash it in from a yard out. The lads were now starting to play some great football with Rossi finding space and causing the Claydon defence problems, he set up the next goal for Luke to score his 2nd of the game with a great shot across the keeper. Rossi got his 1st of the game after some good link up play with Ed and he got the next 1 with a header from a John cross. Tom completed the scoring after he was set up by Ed. The lads had 1 goal disallowed for offside even though the flag didn't go up until the ball was in the net and the lads were on the way back to the half way line. We also had another goal that the lino said was not over the line even though all the lads were convinced that it was.

Overall a good result and an 8-0 win even though we made several changes which is something that will not happen next week against a better team.

Well done lads 3 games to go and still in 3rd but we will need to get points in all the remaining games to keep it.
