Away league match played on 28 November 2021.
Kicked off at 2:00 PM

We travelled away to roffey in what was a frustrating afternoon and came away wondering how we didn’t take all 3 points.

1st half began with Seaford being very aggressive with a really high press winning the ball back high and quickly. It was waves of Seaford attacks keeping the ball really well and moving the ball quickly side to side and forward into Roffey’s penalty area. Early chances fell to Nadine Martin who unfortunately struck her effort straight at the roffey keeper from close range almost identical to last week she almost had to much time in the penalty area. Macey Gipson had a goal disallowed for offside after some really tidy link up play with Nadine Martin and Franci heasman. Franci herself had an effort from the edge of the box caught smartly just under the crossbar by the roffey keeper who found herself very busy. Long range efforts from Paris akehurst, Brooke pallant and Jordan Lucas also saved and blocked by the resilient roffey defence and goalkeeper. Seaford also had an effort cleared off the line after some great work down the left from Gipson and Martin. Seaford’s attacking play was orchestrated mainly by the brilliance of heasman who really controlled the whole tempo of the game and was involved in everything Seaford done with the ball. Seaford we’re caught out on a couple of occasions with a long ball over the top of there high line, luckily for Seaford Katie burr was on the scene to save well twice at the feet of the roffey striker. Unfortunately burr took a nasty knock to the face in one of these saves.

Half time. Half time saw a change in goal for Seaford as after the collision burr had suffered a broken nose and concussion and was unable to continue. Sarah Barton had to take the gloves for the squad and play in goal for the second half. Kelsey birchmoore was also brought on for akehurst. Which meant Kelsey would play left back moving Lucia law to centre half and pallant into the the midfield to replace akehurst.

Second half Seaford came out and Intended on carrying on the same way as the first half, this saw again lots of possession for Seaford but un-fortunately no real chances created due to good roffey defending and Seaford’s final pass just not quite being the right one or forward runs not matching passes. Seaford we’re then caught again in behind after some great work from Roffey’s number 8 who played in Roffey’s number 9 and with the whole half to run into slotted home past the player goalkeeper Barton. 62mins This frustrated the Seaford players and management. Seaford manager Billy pout brought back on akehurst hoping her passing ability could find the killer pass for the forwards to finish. Akehurst replace birchmoore after birchmoore was winded in a 50/50 Seaford began to almost try to hard to score with plenty of time remaining and began to make it easier for roffey to defend, unfortunately after a 50/50 tackle Seaford manager pout had to reluctantly replace heasman for birchmoore who would go on to play as the 9. Birchmoore entered the pitch with a point to prove and showed just what she Is capable of doing creating a chance immediately for Gipson who’s lobbed effort was saved well and also had a chance saved herself after a brilliant pass from akehurst. Seaford looked likely to equalise so manager pout replaced the hardworking Martin with heasman in the hope his top goalscorer alongside birchmoore could find that all important goal. Unfortunately Seaford we’re unable to score and fell to there first league defeat. Seaford will wonder how they didn’t take all 3 points, but that’s football and they will look to get back to winning ways next week away to saltdean who they already convincingly beat 3-0 earlier in the season.
