Home friendly match played on 13 August 2013.
Kicked off at 7:30 PM

Band of Brothers kicked off the half looking for early opportunities to test the new team and that test was passed for the opening 15 minutes until a lapse in concentration allowed the visitors their first of sixe goals.  A fortunate through ball found its way into the box with the Band's striker finish neatly from close range.

The flood gates opened briefly as the Band were soon two to the good following an underhit ball accross the back line which was well read by the attacking numbers was finished from inside the box.

A brief rally followed from the home team, with an indirect free kick for a back pass being spurned by the enigmatic number 10, who was struggling to find his way into the game. Another chance went begging moments later as the same player could only find the side netting with a mis-hit half volley.

Back down the other end, the Band increased their lead following a good spell of possession as yet again, the movement of the midfield maestros pulled the team apart allowing for another easy finish.

Half time couldn't come soon enough for the home team, although they did well to contain the various threats, with debutant Danny Willcocks making a number of tackles and clearances in an attemp to stake a claim to the coveted right back role. Whatever was said at half time looked to work, as the home team appeared to have galvanised and the introduction of super sub Josh Help added another dimension to the teams forward play. Yet again, the defensive line was solid with the commanding Adam Penney at the heart of the defence and the omnipresent Danny Willcocks looking like a man possessed. The line was eventually breached, with the Band yet again finding the net just after the hour mark, the midfield runner bundling the ball home at the back post, which neither of the substitues Miles Plumley or Brad Help could do anything about.

The home team came to life following this goal and there was a good opportunity to get a ball in from the corner spot, but Striker Jason Amy could only skew it over the line for a goal kick in what looked likely to be a desparate showing from the front man.

It became 5 - 0 shortly after this. The home team failed to clear the ball and were punished by a towering header which could not be kept out by a combination of Adam Penney or goalkeeper James Bubb. Penney picked up an injury and was unable to continue, so Richard Pink re-entered the fray to put in a solid performance at centre back.

The home team loosened the shackles and a good spell saw a couple of crosses enter the box, before a moment lit up the pitch and made the teams waiting to play the next game take notice. Central midfielder Brendan Zabel, playing through an injury, turned on the ball after an interception from midfield partner Steven Martel and found Amy springing the offside trap from the right hand side. After glancing up to see the keeper off his line, the clubs top goalscorer produce the moment of the night, a 23 yard lob which nestled sweetly in the side netting just shy of the far top corner. Needless to say, he promptly left the field to a warm reception from the bench, being replaced by 'little flea' Nick Scrimshaw.

There was more action to come though as the Band smasjed the home side for six, a deflection off of centre back Scott Green wrong footing the keeper for a fortunate own goal.

The final whistle was sounded, however Seamless FC walked off the field with their heads high as it was an inspiring performance which saw them hold a team some 14 places above them to just the six goals. It was evident that this is a team showing great potential and we believe this to be the start of bigger and better things for this fledgling club.

Danny Willcocks was voted man of the match by his fellow players after the match in what was a promising debut.

You can see Seamless FC in action live on Saturday, 10.30am on the astro turf down Footes Lane. Entry costs £1, but be sure to be there early as this game is likely to be a sell out.
