The match kicked off at 9:30am, showcasing an exhilarating display of youthful talent and competitive spirit.

Sheffield City Juniors adopted a 1-2-1 formation, with Noah Nellist stationed as the goalkeeper. In front of him, JayJay Hill played as the central defender, tasked with marshalling the defence and providing cover. The midfield was anchored by Alfie Holland and Tierre Haughton-Foster, both central midfielders expected to link play and support the attack. Up front, Lennie Biggins operated as the striker, leading the line and looking to convert chances into goals.

The substitutes for Sheffield City included Gabriel Sanchez and William O’Neill, who would later play pivotal roles in the match.

The action began swiftly, with Tierre Haughton-Foster opening the scoring just one minute in, firing a stunning shot from outside the box that found the back of the net. This early goal set the tone for an exciting match. Just moments later, JayJay Hill showcased his defensive prowess by blocking a chance for Dinnington Town, preventing an immediate response.

Alfie Holland followed suit with an interception in the third minute, demonstrating the team's commitment to maintaining their lead. However, Dinnington Town responded quickly, scoring their first goal in the sixth minute, narrowing the gap to 2-1.

Sheffield City Juniors continued to press, and Tierre Haughton-Foster struck again in the fourth minute, this time from close range, assisted by Lennie Biggins, extending their lead to 3-1. JayJay Hill remained resolute in defence, making another crucial tackle in the ninth minute to thwart a Dinnington attack.

As the match progressed, substitutions were made in the tenth minute, with Gabriel Sanchez replacing Alfie Holland and William O’Neill coming on for Lennie Biggins. O’Neill quickly made his presence felt with an attempt on goal in the eleventh minute, but it was Noah Nellist who stole the spotlight shortly after, executing a full-stretch save to deny Dinnington a chance to score.

However, a handball by Gabriel Sanchez in the twelfth minute led to a free-kick for Dinnington, but they failed to capitalise. The match continued to ebb and flow, with both teams creating opportunities. Dinnington managed to score again in the fourteenth minute, bringing the score to 3-2.

Gabriel Sanchez had a couple of attempts in quick succession, but both were off target. JayJay Hill's defensive efforts were commendable, as he made a clearance in the sixteenth minute to keep Dinnington at bay.

In the seventeenth minute, Alfie Holland returned to the pitch, replacing Tierre Haughton-Foster, while Lennie Biggins came back on for JayJay Hill. Noah Nellist continued to impress, diving at the feet of an opponent in the eighteenth minute to maintain Sheffield's slender lead.

City started the second half strong and Tierre Haughton-Foster scored his third goal of the match in the twenty-fourth minute, with an assist from William O’Neill, extending the lead to 4-2. The relentless pressure from Sheffield was evident as they continued to create chances, but Dinnington managed to score again in the forty-first minute, making it 5-3.
