Away league match played on 24 May 2014.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

Sidlaw Albion ended season 2013/2014 with an emphatic win over 5th placed FC Boukir. FC Boukir started off the better team scoring inside 5 minutes and Sidlaw Albion looked as though they were going to have a slow start to the game however immediately after the goal, Sidlaw Albion proved they were'nt going to be giving up that easy and continued to bombard FC Boukir with waves of attack after attack with some fantastic build up play. Marc Jackson was lucky to avoid a yellow card with a crunching tackle on the edge of the box. Up stepped FC Boukir's front man but the defensive wall did there job and cleared the ball. Mid way through the half FC Boukir conceded a corner, Adam Taylor went in for this one and was hovering on the edge of the box to time his run, the defenders reacted to slow and Taylor rose above the rest to head in the equalizer! The equalising goal seemed to lift the moral even higher and Sidlaw Albion continued with their relentless attack up until half time. Into the 40th minute Robbie Smith played a good up field ball to Daryn Jackson who took a fantastic touch then volleyed the pass to James McDonald who time his run well onto the edge of the box, James McDonald didn't give the defenders any chance by striking it forst time on the volley with a cracking effort that sw it crash into the top corner! James McDoanld broke his goal drought with a fantastic goal! Sidlaw Albion went into the half with the lead after a shaky start but it was the intention of every player that Sidlaw Albion were coming away from this game as winners. Second half and Albion began to push early with more attacking play. Derek 'the destroyer' Stewart played a stormer in the middle of the park commanding every ball whilst Mark Wilson played fantastic and was crucial in his role as play maker. Every method that FC Boukir used to try to contain Sidlaw Albion was deemed useless by the effort and the commitment of the Albion Lads as they all played to each others strengths and proved the better team on the day and looked like a contender for promotion next season. Midway through the half Gerry 'Mighty Mouse' Bambrick collected the ball on the touch line and moved in towards the edge of the box, He looked up and spotted the keeper of the line then bang! a fantastic strike that lobbed the keeper! A very similar goal to the one he scored a few weeks back! Minutes later after kick off  substitutes Lewis Sinclair replaced Derek 'The Destroyer' Stewart and Craig Andrews replaced Dean MacDoanld who played an absolute blinder on the wing, Dean showed what he can do and used the width of the pitch well whilst at the same time utilising his size and using it to his advantage! great effort! Around the 70th minute mark Craig Andrews showed his old magic by opening up the defense and playing Sam McMahon through who chipped in a fantastic cross onto the head of James McDonald who missed the goal by inches! Previous to this Sam had been subjected to shocking tackle after shocking tackle but never the less showed how valued he is to the club by commanding play on the right wing and creating countless opportunities. Sidlaw Albion saw out the rest of the game with some decent defensive play by Robbie Smith who was a rock at right back along side Marc Jackson in the centre. However a slight defensive error by Gerry 'Mighty Mouse' Bambrick saw FC Boukirs striker sneak a soft constellation goal in the 88th minute leaving Gregor Marshall with now chance, who previously in the game had made many magnificent saves to justify his nomination for league player of the year! Sidlaw Albion finished the game as 3-2 winners and by far the deserved winners on the day with a fantastic performance by every player who clearly showed there commitment and intention of playing first team football for a team who looks increasingly likely to push for promotion next season
