South City Fc hosted Silent Eagle Fc at the Roadblock Grounds on 29 March 2026, with kick-off at 4:15pm in a keenly contested league fixture. The home side emerged victorious with a 2-1 scoreline after a pulsating 90 minutes plus injury time, much to the delight of the 200-strong crowd.

South City lined up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, deploying Vicky Mwangi in goal. The defensive line consisted of David Nakhunghu at right back, Bedan Muchiri and Dominic Korir as central defenders, and Fabian Otieno on the left flank. In midfield, Wayne Kephers and Patrick Muraya operated as the two holding central midfielders, tasked with both breaking up play and initiating attacks. Ahead of them, the attacking trio featured Rodney Korir on the right wing, Manucho Kupany centrally as the attacking midfielder, and Alvin Lole on the left wing. Leading the line was striker Malachi Ade, expected to spearhead the attack and convert chances. The substitutes named were Richard Kennedy, Collins Babu, D Dennis, and Alex Matsaki.

The first half saw a balanced contest with both sides probing cautiously, but neither could break the deadlock by the 45-minute mark.

Early in the second half, the visitors took the lead in the 50th minute thanks to a defensive error from South City. Silent Eagle capitalised swiftly, with their forward slotting home a right-footed finish following a lapse in concentration at the back.

South City responded promptly with a double substitution at the 56th minute, bringing on Richard Kennedy for Rodney Korir and Collins Babu replacing David Nakhunghu, both tactical changes aimed at injecting fresh impetus into the side.

Just four minutes later, the home side drew level when Malachi Ade found the net inside the box. The goal was expertly set up by Wayne Kephers, whose short pass unlocked the defence and allowed Ade to finish clinically.

Further tactical adjustments followed as D Dennis replaced Patrick Muraya in the 62nd minute, and Alex Matsaki came on for Manucho Kupany at the 70-minute mark, signalling South City’s intent to push for a winner.

The decisive moment arrived in the 75th minute when Richard Kennedy scored from outside the box. Assisted by D Dennis’s precise cross, Kennedy struck with his right foot to send the ball beyond the goalkeeper and into the net, giving South City a crucial lead.

Despite efforts from Silent Eagle to find an equaliser, South City’s defence held firm to secure the three points.

Manucho Kupany was named player of the match for his influential role in midfield, orchestrating play and creating opportunities before his substitution.

South City Fc’s victory at the Roadblock Grounds was a testament to their resilience and tactical flexibility, overcoming an early setback to claim a vital league win.
