Stirling Albion Reds 2013 hosted Boness United 2013 at Wallace High School on 26 September 2026, with kick-off at 10:00am in a league home match contested over 70 minutes plus added time. The Reds fought valiantly but ultimately succumbed to a 3-2 defeat against their visitors in a closely fought encounter.

Stirling Albion Reds 2013 lined up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, deploying Harry Stephenson in goal. The defensive line consisted of Alfie Blackadder at right back, Daniel Atodele and Callum Craig as central defenders, and Archie Lee at left back. In midfield, Logan Hamilton and Kai Shields operated as the two central midfielders tasked with both defensive cover and linking play. Ahead of them, Luke Waine took up the right attacking midfield role, Sam Walsh occupied the central attacking midfield position, and Owen McIntyre played on the left attacking midfield flank. Leading the line was striker Mackenzie Crossan, expected to spearhead the attack and convert chances. The substitutes named were Indy Sutherland, Callan Marshall, Michael Onwuka-emea, and Jaybe Beattie.

The match began with an early attempt from substitute Jaybe Beattie for Boness United, which went wide in the opening minute. Stirling Albion Reds’ striker Mackenzie Crossan then made a costly misplaced pass just a minute later, quickly followed by a misjudgement from Owen McIntyre and a push foul by defender Callum Craig, all within the second minute. Kai Shields compounded the early errors with a misjudgement in the third minute, though goalkeeper Harry Stephenson was alert to make a crucial dive at the feet of an opponent to prevent an early goal. Owen McIntyre’s subsequent attempt also went wide.

The Reds’ attacking efforts were sporadic in the early stages. Kai Shields fired high over the bar in the fourth minute, while Luke Waine’s shot was saved at five minutes. Sam Walsh’s attempt shortly after was also high, and Waine struck the crossbar in the sixth minute, coming agonisingly close to opening the scoring. Defensive lapses continued with Archie Lee making mistakes in possession but without conceding a goal. Sam Walsh then misplaced a pass, and Lee followed with another error in the seventh minute.

Boness United were reduced to ten men in the eighth minute after a red card for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity, a significant turning point early in the contest. Callum Craig responded well with a clearance in the ninth minute, but the visitors took the lead in the tenth minute with a superb right-footed strike from outside the box. Stirling Albion Reds were handed a chance to equalise immediately with a penalty, but Mackenzie Crossan’s effort flew high over the bar, missing a golden opportunity.

Stephenson was called into action again in the eleventh minute, producing a full-stretch save to keep the Reds in the game. Shortly after, Luke Waine was replaced by Indy Sutherland as the Reds sought to inject fresh impetus. Mackenzie Crossan continued to press, having a shot saved in the thirteenth minute, but Boness United doubled their advantage with a header from outside the box moments later.

Crossan provided a long key pass in the fourteenth minute, showing glimpses of creativity, while Logan Hamilton and Alfie Blackadder made important clearances in the fifteenth and sixteenth minutes respectively to repel the visitors’ attacks. Luke Waine, before his substitution, had a blocked attempt, and Jaybe Beattie’s effort went wide. Indy Sutherland was replaced by Callan Marshall in the eighteenth minute, signalling further tactical adjustments.

Crossan’s attempts were repeatedly blocked or saved, and Owen McIntyre’s shot went high in the twentieth minute. Logan Hamilton made a mistake at twenty-one minutes, prompting a substitution with Michael Onwuka-emea replacing Sam Walsh. Crossan’s shooting woes continued with a wide effort at twenty-three minutes, while Luke Waine delivered a key pass just after. Crossan’s next attempt also went wide, and Callum Craig made a vital tackle in the twenty-sixth minute.

Callan Marshall made a misjudgement at twenty-seven minutes, but Craig again showed defensive resilience with another tackle a minute later. Boness United extended their lead in the twenty-eighth minute with a goalmouth scramble finish, leaving the Reds chasing the game. Both Crossan and Beattie committed fouls with pushes in the twenty-ninth minute, and Jaybe Beattie replaced Logan Hamilton at the half-hour mark.

Archie Lee’s attempt went wide in the thirty-first minute, followed by a saved effort from Crossan and a saved shot from Kai Shields. Lee then fired high in the thirty-second minute before Shields pulled a goal back with a stunning long-range strike in the thirty-third minute, reigniting hope for the home side. However, defensive errors continued with Callum Craig misplacing a pass at thirty-four minutes and Crossan misjudging possession a minute later.

Half-time arrived with the Reds trailing 3-2, but the contest was far from over. Immediately after the break, Callan Marshall scored to level the match at 3-3, giving Stirling Albion Reds renewed belief. Alfie Blackadder cleared danger in the thirty-seventh minute, but Daniel Atodele conceded a foul with a trip a minute later. Archie Lee’s misplaced pass at thirty-nine minutes invited pressure, though Stephenson made a vital parry at the fortieth minute to keep the scoreline intact.

Despite their efforts, Stirling Albion Reds were unable to find a third goal before the final whistle, and Boness United held on for a narrow 3-2 victory. The match was a rollercoaster of early mistakes, defensive resilience, and moments of attacking promise, but ultimately the Reds fell short on home soil.
