From a match that promised so little, the crowd of 3 were heard to say this has been the highlight of the season thus far.

From the kick-off it was clear the Stormcats had the ascendacy as they strung 3 passes together and totaly starved Bayside of possession.

The opening goal saw Tony Z bust through several defensive attempts (slight hand of God) and slot a well placed ball beyond the keepers reach 1-0.

Rob had an early chance also, an absolute screamer that had  the keeper beaten as the ball sailed just wide of the top right corner. This would have been a certain goal had his calf not detatched and sent his right foot sailing (slightly wider than the ball) beyond the top right corner. Sadly this was the end of Rob's evening but he'll certainly be back for another crack soon.

The second Goal, the result of another scramble, saw Abdul emerge from  a cluster of Bayside defenders and cleverly feign a shot that dribbled across to a waiting Neilo who pounced like a cobra to slot a well weighted ball from close range billowing into the back of the net 2-0.

Another sure chance went begging as an uncharacteristicaly well weighted and accurate through ball from Chris placed perfectly at the feet of Wilt had him homing in on the Penalty area. Sadly, a lack of communication between Wilt's left and right feet saw him collapse to the ground like the victim of  a sniper attack.

The third goal...

In an effort to impress his brother, Alistair Krusty Cargill the third, Egg pounced onto a ball in open play, launched from at least 60m out from goal the ball severed the keepers right hand as it sizzled over the goal line before deflecting back out into the field of play. Thanks to Jock's goal line technology, the ball was deemed to have passed completely over the line. Why wasn't Jock officiating the FA Cup final!!!  3-0

The second half brought a fourth goal, a  well worked move from the back line through the midfield culminating in another beautifully weighted through ball (i'm a little uncertain of the assist on this one but it surely couldn't have been Chris a second time) that found Abdul in the clear with a well placed shot beating the keeper once more 4-0.

The final goal saw a surge from the Stormcats backline that resulted in Wilt with his feet in sync pushing a pass through to Pete who ran a lung bustung 20m to shoot low and hard to the left of goal. Finally, Pete had scored and the pyrotechnic team he had had on standbye for the past 6 weeks could finally light the fuse and set off his celebratory fireworks display. 5-0.

Another brilliant effort from Simon keeping a clean sheet despite a number of testing moments where the opposition were awarded free kicks within range or on the rara occassion when the defensive line was broken.

For mine, a very solid team effort with a special mention for Joe who's tireless effort ensured he was first to every ball that came his way. Also, a special thanks to Alistair Krusty Cargill the third for coming along and giving an impressive display.
