Away league match played on 24 October 2009.
Kicked off at 12:00 AM

Another solid performance from a strong Sunningdale side. Overall the game was very tight. and both teams evenly matched.

Both teams had a chance to be ahead in the first half. A placed shot from the Rocket was saved by the goalkeeper, and just before half time a very well struck free kick from St. Pauls was touched onto the bar from Sol in goal.

A quick corner from Paul Nickson to Arjan almost caught the opposition off guard, and some good team work gave Darren a couple of good shooting chances from just outside the box (if only the goals were MUCH taller!)..

Mike had hurt his back in the first half but continued through the pain barrier throwing himself at the ball and preventing a frustrated St. Pauls from being able to attack. The back four continued to work hard and although were moments generally all was handled very well. Sunningdale's hard work paid off with about 25 minutes to go. The Rocket in the box was able to lay Darren off who was comfortably able to put us in the lead. Appeals from the home team of handball was ignored by the referee.

A very tight game, but the 3 points keeps us comfortably 2nd in the league (Current table below).

Roll on next week!
