Home league match played on 13 March 2010.
Kicked off at 1:30 PM

With a makeshift squad yet again we welcomed back the Martin brothers into the fold.

We started well, looking pretty solid. We passed the ball well at times, but probably not quick enough to cause them problems and penetrate. This was a combination of a dry, bobbly pitch and that from where I was positioned, Richie and Giles both looked like their legs were made of cement! (Lay off the jubes, weed, crack, or whatever you two have been consuming on friday nights!)

Coynechelskis, aka Gigi Buffon made a few nice saves when they got a few shots away and Gigi looked to get us away and on goal with his accurate kicks from hands, with Dave M being a mobile target. Dave looked like he hadnt played for 3 years bless him, probably trying to do the things he likes to do when he is sharp, losing possession a few times, but still causing problems with his runs and directness.

Ciaran was playing like Roy Keane in midfield and may have been booked for persistant fouling! Fantastic to see these battling qualities and work rate, also doing well on the ball, trying to start attacks alongside Danny G.

Spagey was a good option for us at left back and got a lot of time on the ball, playing some nice balls into the channels.

Pepe tried a few mazy runs of his, some being effective some not, however as the half neared its end he dropped a shoulder and beat his man to fire a great goal into the far bottom corner. Great individual effort.

So 1-0 up at half time, we were happy with that. The View came out much more positive after the break, running at us from wide positions. From a corner, they levelled. The spare man came off the line to head home from 6yds. Coyne nor Spage reacted to this and he had a free header.

We looked a little jaded, and as they made subs a few of us legs' went, namely Ciaran who had such a good game up to now. Loft, who had drifted in and out of the game swapped with Ciars and tried to get involved in our attacks, but maybe didnt have the defensive thinking to protect as its not his forte.  I thought a few of us gave up mentally and this showed as they exposed our back four, who had been solid all game, time and again, as our midfield was non existant from a defensive standpoint. Both Pad and Steveo got pulled out of position and couldnt recover quick enough as they delivered a corss from the left which they headed home from close range.

Soon after a great cross from the right into the danger area was finished to make it 3-1. We did try and force another goal and kept attacking to the end and Pep was unlucky not to score another as his shot hit the bar - yet again nobody showing that desire to follow up and put the rebound in the net.

Overall, there were some ok performances, and there were some indifferent performances. You know who you are. I know its hard when we have a makeshift 11, but if we come to play we may as well give everything. Some of us didnt and thats why we lost. They were nothing special and with a little bit more desire we could have had a different result.

I have to say that with a proper keeper then there is a posibility that all 3 of those goals may have been stopped, but I thought I did an ok job. Like I said saturday, even if you were personally dissapointed with the goals we conceded we concede them as a team and we have to look to get goals back as a team.

We look ahead to Saturday when we play BSM08. Hopefully we will have a few more faces around, but whatever team we have lets show some heart please.
