Back to winning ways!!

Today was our first home game so we were all eager to get stuck in.

First half we started of slow, trying to find our feet, gauging the opposition and desperate to improve on last weeks defensive performance.

Ash and Powelly making some great tackles and Lee making some great saves, it was a tough first hard, but we battled through it and kept a clean sheet.

Half time 0-0.

Then we stepped it up a gear, we looked alot more composed on the ball and was playing some good football.

The deadlock was broken when Johnny was played in and lobbed the keeper from the edge of the box. Great goal, 1-0 TEFA.

Then Powelly thought he would copy Johnny and won the ball on the edge of the box and lobbed the keeper again. 2-0 to TEFA and we was cruising.

Then after winning a free kick on the edge of the box, it was in a perfect position for Simon to take. And take it he did! Catching the keeper of guard he hit it low and hard into the bottom corner. Great free kick, 3-0 TEFA

Paul Borg then was fouled in the box, and TEFA rules state, "whoever is fouled and wins a penalty has the right to take the penalty or nominate someone in his place". So Paul Borg stepped up and blasted it down the middle of the goal! However... the whistle blew. Simon Cox was inside the area when the penalty was taken. So Paul Borg had to take it again. The pressure was on. But he calmly stood up and took it again placing it into the bottom corner. 4-0 TEFA

As the game fizzled out, TEFA had a corner. Paul Borg whipped it in and even though Shamu the Whale jumped and was in his way, Kevin managed to head the ball across goal, which Mike (the fox) Hirsch happily headed in! 5-0 TEFA.

All in all it was a very comfortable win for TEFA, although we took our time to get into the game, once we found our feet we looked more composed and showed our true ability.

Ashley Boon has been awarded with the man of the match award for another brave performance, winning every tackle and header in the middle and really getting stuck in to the opposition (which they really didn’t like .... fuck did they not stop moaning!!!)

Well done lads, great result, lets keep it going!
