Temple Villa FC welcomed St Josephs to Moate on 6 April 2026 for a league home match that kicked off at 12:15pm. Over the course of 60 minutes plus added time, Temple Villa secured a commanding 3-0 victory, asserting their dominance throughout the contest.

Deploying a 4-2-3-1 formation, Temple Villa lined up with Sam Mellet in goal, protected by a back four consisting of James Dullea at right back, Tiernan O'Shaughnessy and Dan Dwyer as central defenders, and Cian Buckley on the left. The midfield double pivot featured Darragh Nee and Oliver Cooney tasked with both defensive cover and initiating attacks. Ahead of them, the attacking trio comprised Harry Donlon on the right wing, Reuben Davis centrally as the attacking midfielder, and Tom Adamson on the left flank, all supporting lone striker Andrew Fitzpatrick. The substitutes named were James O'Grady, Luke McCrossan, and Christopher Coyle.

The match began with Temple Villa probing for openings, Tom Adamson testing the St Josephs defence early on with a high attempt in the 13th minute. The visitors’ goalkeeper was called into action shortly after when Darragh Nee’s effort was saved in the 19th minute. Temple Villa continued to press, with Adamson firing wide a minute later and Andrew Fitzpatrick seeing his shot saved in the 21st minute. Oliver Cooney’s high strike in the 22nd minute and Cian Buckley’s wide effort in the 23rd minute kept the pressure on, while Adamson’s saved attempt moments later showed Villa’s persistence.

Darragh Nee again threatened in the 26th minute but was denied by the goalkeeper. The first half closed without a breakthrough, and at the 30-minute mark, two substitutions were made: Luke McCrossan replaced James Dullea at right back, and James O'Grady came on for Harry Donlon on the right wing, signalling a tactical refresh.

Early in the second half, Sam Mellet made a crucial dive at the feet of an opponent in the 33rd minute to keep the clean sheet intact. Andrew Fitzpatrick continued to seek a goal, with saved attempts in the 34th and 47th minutes, while Reuben Davis also had a shot saved in the 35th minute. The breakthrough came in the 36th minute when Tom Adamson unleashed a stunning long-range strike with his right foot, assisted by a short pass from Reuben Davis, to open the scoring.

Shortly after, Christopher Coyle replaced Reuben Davis in midfield. Temple Villa doubled their lead in the 45th minute through substitute James O'Grady, who capitalised on a close-range tap-in following a neat short pass from Tom Adamson. The visitors struggled to respond as Fitzpatrick’s attempts in the 49th minute were again thwarted.

At the 51-minute mark, Andrew Fitzpatrick was reintroduced to the pitch, replacing Harry Donlon. Oliver Cooney’s wide effort in the 52nd minute was followed by a substitution swapping him for Reuben Davis. The third goal arrived in the 55th minute when James O'Grady scored another close-range tap-in, this time heading home a precise assist from Tom Adamson, who was instrumental throughout.

Late substitutions saw James Dullea return to right back in place of Cian Buckley at 57 minutes, and Andrew Fitzpatrick replaced Darragh Nee in midfield at 58 minutes. Tom Adamson remained a constant threat, with a saved attempt in the 61st minute rounding off the action.

Temple Villa’s clinical finishing and tactical discipline ensured a comprehensive 3-0 victory over St Josephs, with Tom Adamson’s creativity and goal-scoring prowess, alongside James O'Grady’s timely contributions, proving decisive in this commanding home performance.
