Away league match played on 07 September 2013.
Kicked off at 8:00 PM

The Communists inflicted a total humiliation on Universe United by an outstanding 7-2 win and recorded their 3rd consecutive win this season.

Although The Communists had a few key players absent, they still managed to place a strong squad especially with their keeper Karl Chan returning for this match. Their opponent, Universe Utd, was a foreign registered FC which travelled from Mainland China to participant this league. The result had illustrated that Hong Kong football is much better than the mainland’s and also supported the fact that the mainlanders are occupying Hong Kong’s resources.

The Communists, who played like Stoke City tonight, had 2 disallowed goals 5 minutes after the kick off. Our man of the match Julius Yiu had 2 long throws straight into opponent’s net without touching any players from either side. Minutes after, Kevin Ho, who had scored in the last 2 games, put in the net again with a left foot fierce shot.

Universe Utd almost levelled up with a free kick which they had an ambitious attempt to shoot from distance. The Communists was very lucky as Karl Chan was not aware of the shot, which was only saved by the bar. Moments after, they responded by scoring 3 quick goals, thanks to Julius Yiu's long throw again that forced Universe Utd to score an own goal, before Warren scored a brace.

Universe Utd made a couple of changes 5 minutes before the interval in order to sharpen their attack. Their No. 8, who was the star player caused a few troubles to The Communists, had a nice shot from the right and forced Karl Chan to make a world class save. However The Communist could not stop him from scoring a beautiful goal and the half time score was 4-1.

During the half time interval The Communists tried to influent the refs, who were pretty soft, about the opponent’s foul throws and aggressive plays. In the second half, the refereeing improved by disallowing a an opponent throw, which turned out to be a Communists goal scoring threat. However, they kept their pocket cool by not giving out a yellow card on a few violent challenges by Universe Utd.

The Communists placed an entirely different squad in the second half, meanwhile Universe Utd tried to pull another goal back and their effort paid off from a corner.  Universe Utd swung in a very tricky corner and Karl Chan was the unlucky victim to put the ball into his own net. Fortunately, The Communists did not panic and controlled the game’s possession with 3 more goals by Chris Lui, Vincent Chan and Julius Yiu to secure their victory.

It is also worth noting that Universe Utd tried to play full attack in the last few minutes by making more attacking substitutions. However, it seemed that they were not familiar with the rule of only 8 substitutions are permitted in one game.

Final Score, Universe Utd 2 – 7 The Communists
