Away league match played on 20 January 2011.
Kicked off at 7:00 PM

Longy is back but Joe is out as he is ill, Lee didn't show up, Joff was tidying, oops i mean painting, his room, James' mum said he hadn't been home from school and JP was working!

Joe was begged to play and he did, good lad! Commitment levels have been sketchy to say the least from certain players. Just tell me if you can't make it, it isn't a problem. Just let me know!!!!!!!!

Anyway, we got down there in Longy's motor and luckily Gaz was already there (with his lovely wife I might add). Game on...

Longy loses the toss and Ian opts for the call.

He wants a singles so Emma and Shane are called into action.... Hang on, another delay cos Shane cannot be found. He must be buying a drink? No!! Smoking outside? No!! Longy checks the toilets and he is in the shitter having a pony but talking to someone on the phone! In the end he turns up shakes hands with the opposition (hope he washed them first) and we get underway!

Shane/Emma v Ant/Aaron: Great scoring by Shane and solidly backed up by Emma we find ourselves on 36 that Emma comfortably takes out to put us in front. They level up as Emma hits a leg with a 40 average but Shane piles the pressure on with an average of 51 hitting to 80+ scores but they take out the crucial double. 1 all and the decider is here. The crowd go silent and Emma hits a 3. No there is no number missing, it was just a 3 ha ha. Shane keeps scoring well and takes out double top to put us in the lead. Great work! 1-0 up

Joe v Barry: Steady scoring from the recovering Joe (illness not alcholism) but just the crucial doubles never presented themselves. Barry finished very well taking out 36 and 10 to win 2-0. 1-1

Longy/Gaz v Steph/Baz: With Gaz not scoring over 60 it was down to Longy to hit the scores but Gaz hit the crucial double (16 & D8) for the first leg. Good solid scoring in Leg 2 saw longy with 33. Single 17 and D8 was the route to victory. 2-1 up

Mark v Lewis: Definitely the game of the night this one. Jimmy Neutron, the wiley old timer, versus Lewis, the young high scoring whippersnapper. Lewis had the best of it in Leg 1 and took out 32 (16 & D8) for a 27 darter. Mark came back with a 121 to go in front after the oppo hit a ton. A great take out of 71 (T17 & D10) got him level. Quality darts mate. The decider in which Mark hits to ton scores and a 98, Lewis fought back with a 95 and 121. With 19 left Mark misses the chance to win as he hits 9. Lewis comes in with.... 0 / D19 to win the game. Great darts in that 3rd leg in which both players had 60+ averages. 2-2

Mark/Joe v Mandy/Jill: A chance for the 2 players that have played their singles game to redeem themselves (and to get Mark on before he is fucking steaming on the cheap beer) sees a boys v girls match. Joe outscored all players on the oche in the first leg including a great 98 to set up a D4 checkout for Mark. He misses and leaves 2 and Joe takes it out straight away. An 81 for Mark and a 60 for Joe in Leg 2 left Joe on 35. Could he do it? After he just missed a 73 outshot after hitting T11 and 2 darts bending the wire on double top, would he have it in the locker? Yes, get in 3 / D16. Great arrows again! 3-2 up

Well, all of the doubles games played and won (Joe and Mark 2-0 = NICE WORK)

The food comes out and it was good in terms of quantity but the sausage sarnies were rank! Pizza was from Iceland but the kievs and wedges were good! Thanks for this...

Ian has been geeing us up and trying to play mind games all night..... Let's prove that we have it in the locker......

Shane v Dave: Not in the crapper before this game 'Bowled Shane' is the cry as he approaches the oche. A 39 dart leg saw him home and dry in leg 1. The scoring was slow from Shane but Ant hit a ton and 4 scores of 60 but couldn't finish his fucking dinner! Shane pops in D5 for the opener. Ant replies with a 21 darter after Shane hits a 125 and 2 scores of 60. 18 double 18 was the route and 1-1 was the score. Shane hitting 80 followed by 100 and then 110 left him on a finish but it wasn't taken out...... After busting out 74 Ant took out D18 for the match. Good work Shane, unlucky! 3-3

Emma v Dave: 98, 85 and 85 were on the board from Emma and that took her to 52.56 average in the leg. Dave averaged 57.81 as he took out 48 in a 26 dart leg. Solid scoring again in leg 2 but with 14 points left Dave took out 70. Unlucky Em, chances in both legs..... Not taken. 4-3 down

The first time we go behind and, according to the stats, the 2 most consistent players in the squad were left to play their singles.

Longy v Lee: A slow scoring leg saw Longy left with 196 as Lee is on 44. But with a couple of 60's (good grouping) Longy is left with 60 and takes a swipe at his opponent by taking out 20 / Double top! 2nd leg was similar but Longy comes in with a 126 (18/T18/T18) in reply to Lee's 2 x 100's saw him left with 22. Busted once would Longy hold his nerve? Course he would. 2-0 and cosy with his D11. 4-4

The decider and Longy could sense Gaz's ring was twitching. Longy, after the pep talk, was confident his man would do the business. After Longy found an empty viagra packet in the toilets he hoped it wasn't Gaz that need it to be up for it (darts I mean).

Gaz v Ian: 12 throws and Gazza hits only 2 x 60+ scores. Unlike Gaz but he also missed chances at D20 which is even more unlikely. Ian (their skipper) scored well late in the leg and took out D4 on his 3rd dart to nose in front. Gaz hits 81 followed by 109 (unorthodox) but still found himself a long way back and wanting Ian to miss his shot 17 it just didn't happen. Ian wins 2-0 after hitting the required double and that was the end of the night! 5-4 down

Unlucky, a great performance tonight and assuming you are all available for the next game, you will be the team that turns over Royal George!
Come on the Mill.

Good to see us all in the shirts.

Food was average

Sportsmanship from them was OK (although I didn't appreciate the music being turned up when I was throwing at a double. Although I took it out anyway)

Let's hope we get them in the Chairmans Cup semi final that we are in and smash them up!
