Away tournament match played on 15 September 2012.
Kicked off at 9:00 AM

The game very much began with energy and determination from Porto as they looked to take early advantage. Before the Porto opponents could get a foot hole in the game, Porto had virtually camped themselves in the FUSC goalmouth, but as in previous games, they just found that final touch or strike lacking. This would come back to haunt the Porto boys as against the run of play and from a corner, FUSC took the lead as the Porto boys failed to defend the inward corner and left a white shirt free to put the ball in the net.

Despite this, the Porto boys stuck firm to their task and again for the better part were by far the better team. When we come to look at soccer, the greatest teams are always commented for their passing and moving as well as their defensive guile. All these attributes were clear to be seen in the Porto boys, but that missing ingredient of putting the ball into the net was just evading the Porto team.

When it was looking like it was not going to be Porto's game, a goal of spectacular note came from the central defender that was Nic. As a clearance from the FUSC back line looked to have done the job, Nick launched a long range shot into the top corner to level the score.

With this, belief returned to the Porto boys and again they attacked with wave after wave and were unlucky on several occasions. Then the game turned with controversial poor refereeing.

As the Porto team were attacking, a cross from the wing found it's way to the FUSC central defender, who clearly motioned the ball back to the keeper, who in turn collected the ball in both hands. With this being a clear pass back, the Porto boys appealed to the referee who in turn refused to listen. In the resulting play, the FUSC boys attacked and with virtually the last kick of the game, scored the winning goal.

Obviously with this game finishing on a sour note for the Porto boys, this should not hide and take away from the teamwork and play during the game. The all round attitude and teamwork is improving game by game and with continued belief, the wins will come!
