Trinderbox fc 9 vs 1 Red Arrow

<p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;" align="center">Red Arrows Formation Blown Apart <p class="MsoNormal">On a cold day at North Kilworth, Trinderbox came up against form side Red Arrow who hadn&rsquo;t lost in 6 games. The game kicked off late at 10.40 owing to a problem with the nets identified by replacement referee Keith Reid. There were a number of changes from the side who narrowly lost 3-2 to Premiership side Glenfield Town last week, in the Billy Walton cup. Alex Starkey filling in at left back was a tactical switch that was to pay dividends during the game with his link play to midfield and the forward combination of Himan &amp; Dean. <p class="MsoNormal">It was an even but uneventful first 20 minutes with neither side really taking the initiative. Both teams were looking to pass the ball around on a heavy pitch, &amp; whilst there were a couple of half chances, there was little to test either goal keeper. That vein continued until Leigh Grant made a defence splitting ball through to Wayne Deane, who stuck the ball first time to comprehensively lob the goal keeper as he advanced into no man&rsquo;s land. 1-0 after 25 minutes. <p class="MsoNormal">The goal seemed to settle Trinderbox who began to play the neat football that has become their trademark. Alex Starkey played a great ball through to &ldquo;G&rdquo; &ldquo;the Hitman&rdquo;Himan in for 2-0 on 33 minutes. Then &ldquo;the &ldquo;hit man&rdquo; turned provider with a perfect cross to fellow striker Wayne Deane who headed powerfully past the goal keeper on 40 minutes. 3-0 at half time. <p class="MsoNormal">Strangely though trinderbox did not look comfortable, until Wayne returned the compliment of the first half by teeing up George for his second on 55 minutes to make it 4 &ndash; 0. This settled trinderbox, but the game took a turn against them when the slope played it&rsquo;s part in a speculative 30 yard shot that&nbsp; deceived goalie Adam Corbett to float into the net 4-1 on 57 minutes. <p class="MsoNormal">Adam Littlewood replaced Brezzer on 60 minutes &amp; Calvin Marsden the picked his spot with a well placed shot from the edge of the box to score for 5-1 on 63 minutes after Nick Gomez played him in with some skilful play. This was the opening of the flood gates as the red arrow heads went down. Wayne set up &ldquo;G&rdquo; whose fierce shot was parried but Chris Bodycote, following up tapped into the empty net for 6-1 on 68 minutes. <p class="MsoNormal">Luke came on for Chris Bodycote on 73 minutes, and he was instantly involved with a run &amp; shot at full pace. Gomez then played in George to complete his hat-trick on 80 minutes, before Alex hit a screamer that hit the bar with the keeper well beaten, for 7-1.&nbsp; <p class="MsoNormal">Gomez then showed his dazzling skills with some neat footwork saw him weave his way past 4 defenders before hitting an unstoppable shot to make it 8-1 uncannily on 81 minutes. <p class="MsoNormal">It was all on way traffic now and 3 minutes left Wayne completed a superb hat-trick with a headed goal from George&rsquo;s accurate corner.&nbsp; The defence was not really tested apart from the goal. There were of course, moments of mirth in the game. Alex &ldquo;Charleston&rdquo; Starkey, making some excellent steps on 37 minutes with a bizarre attempt to control a difficult ball. <p class="MsoNormal">He will however have to take 100 lines after school for committing the school-boy error of a foul throw. He trudged away with his tail between his legs, which spoilt what was an otherwise faultless game by&nbsp; Trinderbox&rsquo;s&nbsp;&nbsp; Mr Utility the game finished 9-1. <p class="MsoNormal">Two games, TrinderBox 22 scored 2 against for Red Arrow all the 2&rsquo;s. <p class="MsoNormal">&nbsp; <p class="MsoNormal">Steve Kirk.&nbsp;
