Home league match played on 19 January 2014.
Kicked off at 10:45 AM

The UNITS returned to league action and took on Enville Athletic at Brown Westhead. Cuzer found himself with a host of players missing and mustered together 14 as we lined up: Tom, DJ, Ben, Taylor, Sean, Jay, Coco, Jim, Baker, Trigger and Azza - Subs were Dan Butler, Dan Giles and Lewis.

Once again at home the UNITS started well, the tempo was good and we moved the ball nicely, we had a chance to take the lead from the spot on 7 minutes when some slick play down our right resulted in DJ being brought down in the box but Azza rattled the spot kick off the top of the bar and it remained goal less. However, this wasn't for long when on 10 minutes Trigger took a quick throw to Azza who carried the ball 30 yards, beat his man in the box and fired home from a tight angle to atone for his penalty miss as the UNITS took a deserved lead.

Enville were committed and working hard but it was one way traffic as the UNITS were playing well from front to back. Trigger twice went close, as did Azza and Jim had a goal bound shot blocked as we went in search of the 2nd. It did arrive on 25 minutes when from a Coco free kick Trigger had a free header which the keeper could only parry and Jay was on hand to scramble home from inside the 6 yard box. The first half was wrapped up nicely for the UNITS with a bizarre OG from the Enville full back. Trigger got away but his touch was heavy, he kept the ball in and crossed on the stretch into the box only for the Enville full back under no pressure to bullet a header into the far corner of his net.

HT UNITS 3 v 0 Enville

Cuzer was delighted with the first half application, Tom had not had a save to make such was our dominance and the lads were told to keep the tempo and kick on further in the 2nd half. However, as is the way we were a little sloppy early doors in the 2nd half and Enville, no doubt on the back of a few choice words had their best spell, forcing 3-4 quick corners on the bounce and a couple of long range efforts which were comfortably dealt with by Tom. Once the UNITS weathered those 10 minutes we were quickly back in the ascendancy, Jay twice went close as did Trigger and Coco blazed over from a good position On the hour mark Lewis and Gilo replaced Azza and Coco Pountney was quickly into the action, showing good feet and releasing Trigger who was brought down in the box when through, taking the ball himself he put it on the spot only to tamely side foot towards the corner and the keeper saved and from the rebound Trigger rattled the post as the elusive first goal of the season wouldn't come DJ had picked up a knock in the first half and was replaced, like for like, by Dan Butler on 65 minutes.

Pountney was looking lively and after a good run he cut inside and played in trigger, this time he evaded the centre halves lunge and prodded home from 8 yards out to notch his first of the campaign and our fourth of the game. This really knocked the stuffing out of Enville and the last 15 minutes or so were like the Alamo as wave after wave of attacks came at Enville, in one bizarre encounter a corner was cleared off the line, Jim and Dan Butler going close, then Taylor tried an acrobatic overhead kick which was hacked off the line and then we managed to hit both posts before the ball was finally cleared. On 80 minutes after another UNITS corner the ball was only half cleared and played wide to Millette who showed good feet to beat his man before side footing towards the bottom corner, the Enville keeper made a fine low save but Trigger was the man on the spot to stroke home the loose ball to finish the day with a brace as the UNITS ran out comfortable 5-0 victors.

Good performance this morning from all involved, we've not been at our best at home this season but 5 goals, 2 missed penalties, some good football, solid defending and many a chance created was a good mornings work.

Man of the match went to Paul Taylor who alongside Sean were superb at the back today and the distribution was impressive too starting off many a UNIT attack.

Next up the UNITS are again at home to West Hagley in the Quarter Finals of the Worcs Junior Cup.
