Home league match played on 03 March 2013.
Kicked off at 11:00 AM

In the 2nd game of the morning Cuzer shuffled the pack as we lined up
Mala, Eggy, Darbs, Taylor, Chinner, Baker, Newton, Coco, Ashton, Azza & Trigger
Subs were Kieron P, Ross, Acer, Ginge & 2ton

It was important the lads had the attitude right as they were deflated after the first game only picking up one point
Thankfully we started really well, Trigger was working his socks off up top and on 5 minutes rolled the centre half with ease and forced a smart save at his near post from the keeper
Azza was next to threaten when he shot just over from 20 yards after some lovely slick build up play
Mala was called into action to make one smart save from a volley on 10 minutes from a rare Station attack

Just after the 10 minute mark the UNITS took the lead, after some nice football through midfield Trigger was released in acres and as he accelerated into the box he was clattered by their keeper as he got his shot away, this time the referee pointed to the spot and after Trigger had 5 minutes of treatment to a nasty gash on his leg Taylor stepped up to cooly slot home from the spot 1-0

Trigger came back on and instantly should have put us 2 to the good when he was again released clear this time the Station keeper was in no mans land on the edge of his box, all Trigger had to do was lift the ball over him into the empty net but shanked wide

At the other end we were looking very solid and on half time Azza got to the byeline and pulled the ball back to Ashton who had a shot blocked on the line, Newton having a shot with the follow up which was expertly blocked by the Station centre half

HT 1-0

Again Cuzer was praising the lads, we were well on top the only thing missing was a more clinical approach as at 1-0 Station were always in the game

Ginge relaced Azza at half time and was quickly in the thick of the action with some of the Station back line not happy with his work rate and harrying of them as the game started to get a bit of needle which was a shame

The UNITS were again well on top, Coco and Ashton were having joy down the flanks and when cutting inside and the UNITS were now playing some better football as the game became stretched, Ginge twice having shots blocked by last ditch defending in the 18 yard box as the elusive 2nd goal wouldn't come

10 minutes into the 2nd half the game changed when their fullback Mushy and Ginge had a coming together, alas in true Arsene Wenger style I didn't see the incident just the reaction of Ginge to an alleged head but, the referee sending off the Station full back and booking the UNITS striker

Shortly after Kieron P replaced Newton as Cuzer changed shape, we were now moving the ball around well and Baker was next to threaten, firing just over from the edge of the box

Ross then replaced Trigger who had an encouraging debut and he was soon involved in the action, some quick football resulted in him being released in behind Station's back line and as he accelerated on the keeper he could only hit the base of the post from his one on one chance with the keeper beaten

The above mentioned two were to meet again a couple of minutes later when Ross was again played in behind this time the keeper got their first but Ross left his foot in and caught the keeper. Yellow card for Ross, no complaints but then the Steve Ogrisovic lookalike who was extremely lucky not to be in the book already jumped into Ross with two feet off the ball, clear red and an early bath for the veteran stopper

Ross was then inches away from the killer 2nd goal himself when he skipped past 2 challenges in the area and when faced with the keeper dragged his shot into the side netting from a tight angle

The game was now turning nasty and tackles were flying in but only one side looked like scoring and we finally got the 2nd when Coco was released down the left by Baker and he skinned the full back before hanging up a cross which sailed over the stand in keeper and into the far corner

We could have had 1 or 2 more towards the end as we got in behind time and time again as Station threw men forward but in the end we picked up 4 points out of 6 which was a good return against a side in form but over the balance of the two games turned out to be 2 points dropped due to our dominance

Man of the match in the 2nd game went to Chinner who played every minute of both games and was solid as a rock at full back and his distribution was excellent throughout both games
