What a performence lads today. After an eventfull journey to the ground our lads turned in their best FOOTBALLING performence of the season against a good and highly rated Barnby dun team.

On a big pitch the 1st half was close we were playing lovely neat football and created quite a few chances but failed to convert them and Barnby were always dangerous on the break, one particular break saw a great last ditch tackle from man of the match Ashley Higgins it also has to be said that lewis was on top form pulling off saves when needed and looking really confident on crosses.

Half time came and i decided to go back to 4-4-2 and told the lads more of the same. We didn't have to wait long a great run and shot from Azzer was followed in by Rutts who put the ball into the empty net to silence his grandad! (well at least for 30 seconds or so). We were now playing really well with Ben and Luke getting on top in the middle of midfield and Iain and Morgan playing well from wider positions, Barnby would have equalised but for a world class save from Lewis the ball was top corner and somehow he got a strong hand on it to tip it away for a corner. Soon after we had a real knockback when Iain had to be carried off with what looked like a bad knee injury, Azzer came back into midfield and Alex came on to play upfront with Rutter. Soon after this we increased the lead when Azzer powered forward and rifled in a shot that went in off the post. Again bad news followed when one of the "BRUISE BROTHERS",(Luke) got one of his own forcing him to be carried off. Michael Grandorge came on at left back and pete moved into midfield. From the touchline we were now quite anxious as we were close to victory but losing key players to injury, we had no need to worry though as the lads just got better and better Barnby were reduced to long range shots they could'nt get near the goal because AYYAZ was there with his normal no nonsense and his partner Derek was always their with his turbo speed to snuff out any danger. We then took the game over Pete Grayson heading in via a scramble to notch his 2nd goal in 3 games!. After this came the goal of the game Ben won the ball knocked it on and RUTTER did the rest rifling an unstoppable 1st time shot into the corner of the net the crowd was amazed/stunned by both the quality of the finish and the Fact that RUTTS had managed to stay on his feet, it was pointed out though that he did manage to fall over whilst celebrating!

Lads this performence was outstanding and believe me people round the league will sit up and take notice of this result for Valley.

Since our terrible let down performence at Brampton we have took the wake up call and won 3 games on the trot with a mixture of tenacious battling and champagne football, i told you after Brampton your parents deserved better and boy have you given it them everyone of them was amazed and proud of you yesterday

KEEP IT UP
