Joue Joue Joue a point keeps us in position two. Vapours extended their winless run to 4 games but were happy to take a point against a strong Felpham side who's false league position will surely change once they start playing their games in hand.

Vapours head back out on the road to King George V now nearly 2 months since our last home game. The game started brightly and it was the home side who put on the majority of the pressure. Against the run of play Vapours twice had a good chance to score from first a corner when Leadbeatter let a cross bounce off his head and Mark Harfield breaking free to drag his shot wide. It was soon after when Felpham finally turned their possesion and corners into a chance and it was duly snapped up to give them a deserved lead. The pattern of the game didn't change much after this and Vapours thought well to hang in the game and their hard work was rewarded when a back pass from their right back found it's way beneath their keepers foot and into the goal for a calamitous equaliser. This was how things stayed until half time with neither side really creating a clear cut chance.

Felpham came storming out at half time and started to finally put some pressure on the goal. Crosses started flying in from both flanks but a combination of good saves from Blackall and a lack of finesse in front of goal kept Felpham at bay. They finally found the breakthrough when a shot from the edge of the box was parried and the Vapours defence stood and watched two Felpham players follow up the shot with striker Brown tapping home. Vapours made a couple of subs and some fresh legs up top and a tiring defence saw to a very open last half an hour. Vapours for the first time in the game finally started to put Felpham under some pressure and it was one of the subs Pagey who sublimely brought down the ball and played in Leadbeatter who must have been cramping up as he decided he didn't want to run so went for a lob (all the way from Butlins if you'll believe his version of the goal) and managed to beat the keeper to level the scores. The game continued in an end to end fashion until the final whistle and it was Leadbeatter and Pagey combining again at the death which nearly stole the points. That would have been harsh on the home side though and overrall Vapours were probably the happier of the two teams to take a point.

Special Mentions This Week:

Cambiasso getting smacked in the face with the ball whilst moaning to the ref. If we see something funnier this season I'll be surprised.

Cambiasso again for being Judas and only bringing me on for 2 minutes.

Some great Physio work from Lelksy and Jose at various points in the second half, adding more comedy to the game.

Sorry the report was late this week but I've been up in Manchester. We have no game this week but return to action on the 3rd with a home game against Petworth 2nds (I've checked, the first team are playing this time). Oh, and for anyone who wants to query my 9.9 rating, I ask you to find something I did wrong. I didn't give the ball away, I didn't lose a header, I didn't lose a tackle, every touch of the ball I made was perfect and I managed to get in both boxes in my 2 minutes or so on the pitch. Forza Vapours!
