Home league match played on 19 March 2012.
Kicked off at 7:20 PM

Ventolin claimed the points in a powerful 7-3 defeat of skillful Amplicon Athletic.

Man of the match Loz Robinson led the way with a hatrick and two assists, supported by Andy Ross who added a brace, as well as goals for John Archdeacon and Tony Dain.

Amplicon were in some disarray at kick off, with only 4 players and one guy they had borrowed until their other players arrived making his way to the pitch, things were not looking good. Ventolin took advantage of this racing into a 4-0 half team lead, thanks to goals from Robinson (2) Ross and Dain.

Robinson opened the scoring after excellent work from Plass. There was an element of good fortune as ball cannoned off the posts before finding its way past the keeper. Ross made it 2-0 after an inch perfect floated pass from Plass, saw Ross bring it down before, calmly slotting it low past the keepers left hand and into the net. Dain then made it 3-0, winning the ball from Reece in defence, he surged forward before playing a one two with Robinson, before side footing the ball past the Amplicon keeper. Ventolin were rampant now and had their finishing matched their approach play they would certainly have doubled their score by now.   Robinson then made it 4-0 again linking well with Dain who this time was the provider for Robinson who made no mistake. HT 4-0 Ventolin.

Amplicon were now organised and back to full strength, ready to launch a second half revivial.

Ventolin soon appeared to put pay to this with a fifth goal straight from the restart. Robinson again surged down the wing, whipping a fine ball into the box, where Ross slid in to make it 5-0.

Chances to add to the score came and went due to a combination of excellent saves from the Amplicon keeper, pitch invasion legend the flying potato and a horror show of misses from the entire Ventolin team.  Dain, Plass, Ross, Archdeacon and Robinson all missed simple chances that on other nights would have been buried.

Ventolin's wastefulness seemed to give hope to their opponents, allowing them to get back into the game, scoring two goals without reply after a combination of poor defending and a fine strike. 5-2 Ventolin.

Keeper Barton, who had stood by as his team mates continued to miss, took matters into his own hands with two surging runs, creating goals for both Archdeaon and Robinson, who increased Ventolins lead to 7-2.  The final word went to Amplicon who after a tired misplaced pass managed to score a final consolation goal with a good strike from the wing.

Ventolin could be happy with their overall performance even if they were ruing the opportunity missed to rack up considerably more goals.

Man of the match Robinson was instrumental in 5 goals and was more than worthy of his MOM award after a display that showcased his talents superbly.

Next week Ventolin face Hammers FC at 6pm.
