Inhalers blow away the Fat in 4 goal first half blast! Injury hit inhalers conjure amazing win without a recognised goalkeeper!

Ventolin Inhalers produced their best performance of the season so far, with a superb 7-4 victory over Fat Bald and Son, the team that beat Ventolin to the championship on goal difference last season

Ventolin were forced into a new formation with the news that Andy Barton was on Holiday and the late absence of Dan Keeley. Joe Plass played the role of what can only be described as the 'goalsweeper' with Tony Dain and Andy Ross at the back and John Archdacon and  Loz Thompson up front.

From the kick off Ventolin played the ball around with panache, with their opponents somewhat bemused by the 'goalsweeper' role and their inability to get near the ball.  The extra man on pitch was creating space for the ventolin outfield players to pass and move around their opponents with some ease, leading to several early chances.

The first goal of the game came after some good build up play, culminating in Loz slipping a neat ball into Andy who turned his man to tease the ball past the keeper and into the goal.

With almost the next attack John found Loz who beat his man before firing past the stunned FBS keeper. FBS were now in complete diarray, having no answer to Ventolins clever play and minutes later it was 3-0 after Joe found Tony out wide, he then picked out John at the far post to tap into the empty net.

It was soon 4-0 as Andy embarked on a solo run that finished with him turning the last man and flicking the ball calmly inside the near post.

At this stage FBS had hardly touched the ball, only really to intercept and tackle the marauding Inhalers. Unsurprisingly Ventolin went down a gear and immediately paid the price after a poor pass, leading to the key FBS striker smashing home from inside the ventolin box. HT 4-1 Ventolin.

The second half started much like the first with Ventolin again using the extra outfiled player well, creating chances for both John and Loz, both of which were well saved by the busy fat keeper.

After some further measured play from Ventolin Tony played a sweet chipped ball into the path of Andy in behind the FBS defence, he then crossed to Archdeacon who made no mistake with his second of the match and Ventolins fifth.

This time FBS were in no mood to sit back and allow Ventolin to dominate the game as they had to this point. In fact Fat enjoyed their best spell of the game, pushing the inhalers back and beginning to press hard themselves. Unfortunately Ventolin were defending well and limiting FBS to long range efforts.  It was soon 5-2 after some careless defending was again punished by the in form FBS striker.

This seemed to inspire Ventolin once more, as they played themelves clear, only for Joe to blaze over from distance.  John could then have had his hatrick, after his close range effort was smoothered by the keeper. Ventolin did soon make it six when Tony played in Loz who beat two players and the keeper before cooly knocking the ball into the empty net.

Ventolin were nearly the architects of their own downfall when they gave the ball away cheaply only to see the FBS player angle home his shot from outside the box, somehow beating the defence and keeper in the process.

It was soon 7-3 as Loz this time went on one of his mazy runs, playing a pass to John who played a neat return into the box, Loz then showed great footwork to dribble and trick his way around the keeper for his hatrick.

There was still time for the faultless Joe to lose possession grobaalaar style gifting Fat a fourth goal they really didnt deserve.

As  it was the ref called time, with Ventolin comfortable winners and looking forward to a tilt at the title.

Manager Tony Dain wa ecstatic at the post match press conference, helping his side to 2nd place in the premiership after collecting 7 from 9 points in their first three  games of the season. " We were superb tonight and in the first half they just couldnt handle our strategy and to score four goals was reward for that"

MOM Andy Ross was happy if not knackered after his all action display, " Really happy with my second goal, one for the scrapbook, but all round i thought we were excellent tonight".

Next week Ventolin play the Hammers who are just one point behind them in the table after also winning two of their first three games.
