Forest Cut Down

Forest Falcons came to city rd bottom of the league and with only one victory all season ironically against Warley on the first day of the season. A lot has changed since then with the fortunes of both teams. Forest are anchored firmly at the foot of the table and Warley are chasing a top four finish and are in the quarter finals of the cup.

Warley started brightly and had the majority of play but a combination of failed passes and Forest defiance meant that the breakthrough goal didn’t happen until the 12th minute when a delightful through ball from Dan W. found his strike partner Sam S. who shot low to start the scoring. Warley Boro 1 Forest Falcons 0. The favour was returned when Sam S. was suppler and Dan W. the scorer on 16 minutes to make the score Warley Boro 2 Forest Falcon 0. Sam S. was also the provider on 18 minutes for Byron to enter the scoring party and make the score Warley Boro 3 Forest Falcon 0. Warley continued to press forward going close on a number of occasions and on the stroke of half time Sam S provided the pass Dan W. rounded the keeper and thus end the first half scoring. Half time: Warley Boro 4 Forest Falcon 0.

Forest entered the second half determined to keep the scoring down but Warley's main focus was to improve their goal difference. On 36 minutes Sam W provided the ammunition for Byron to score he’s second and Warley’s fifth. Warley Boro 5 Forest Falcon 0. In the 45 minute flying winger Sam D. tough tackling provided Byron with the opportunity to fire a screamer from 25 yards that shattered the net courtesy of the bar. Warley Boro 6 Forest Falcon 0.  On 54 minutes Anil’s beautifully floated corner found the head of Sam S. whose bullet header made it Warley Boro 7 Forest Falcon 0. The Forest resistance was all but gone and Warley  continued to drive forward. On 61 minutes a Byron rocket beat the keeper but not the post. Cruelly the rebound hit the Forest keeper and ended up in the back of the net Warley Boro 8 Forest Falcon 0.
