Kicked off at 12:30 PM

This match promised to be a closely contested game of two halves with Boro needing to equal the excellent form showed in their last game. Both teams fielded a strong line up and a scout from  local Premiership club Wolverhampton Wanderers turned up to cast an eye on the proceedings.

With the pressure on to improve on only two league wins this season and missing Kieran from the squad but welcoming Sam D. and Callum back from Skiing duty manager Matt had a good choice of opening players.

From the kick off Warley were on the ball and applied the pressure to the strong looking Gornal team, who only managed to venture into Warley’s half three times in the first fifteen minutes for a concerted effort on goal, but not managing to finish. Winning a free kick 16 mins into the game Gornal had their first real look at a lead gaining chance from about 25 yards out, but the shot drifted over the bar with the help of a very consistent strong breeze.

The action from that point on was end to end with both teams making some good break’s only to be thwarted by the defence of the opposition. Warley though were the brighter and pressed hard for the opener. The pressure paid off as an excellent break deep into Gornal’s half by Dan F set up Sam S for the first goal on 28 minutes.  The second half, with the score line 1-1 victory was on the minds of the players from both teams giving them all new vigour. Moving swiftly back to Warleys half Gornal gained a free kick about 27 yards out which Colm dutifully saved.
