Home league match played on 24 November 2013.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

United took on 2nd placed Alexandra Grangetown at Northern Areas looking to prevent them doing the double over us after a 2-1 defeat earlier in the season.

However Alexandra Grangetown took the lead on 15 minutes. A free kick from the left wing was controlled well and a cross put into the box was headed in from 4 yards out

It was 2-0 on 23 minutes when a fantastic run split the United defence and was finished well

Alexandra Grangetown went into the break with a 3-0 lead thanks to a goal on 43 minutes. Another cross into the box was controlled well and hammered into the net

Half Time - Wear United 0-3 Alexandra Grangetown

United started the second half better and pulled level with 3 goals in 4 minutes

Firstly on 61 minutes a fantastic run by Dan Musther ended with Chris Brown taking over the ball and slotting it superbly into Gary Simmons path and he made no mistake finishing into the bottom corner. A minute later Brown and Simmons combined again this time with Gary Simmons playing in Chris Brown and Brown calmly putting it into the corner of the net
On 64 minutes United pulled level. Again another great run by Dan Musther was ended with a foul in the box. Musther stepped up to take it and hammered it into the top corner perfectly.

It seemed that all the hard work and effort was in vain though as on 75 minutes Alexandra Grangetown regained the lead. A through ball was perfectly dispatched into the corner of the net

United though showed even more spirit and determination and were rewarded with another equalising goal. 86 minutes were on the clock when man of the match Stu Bowman played the pass of the game splitting the defence and Gary Simmons was on hand to put it into the net despite the keeper and 3 defenders best attempts to keep it out.

The match report wouldn't be complete without the mention of Andrew Sheekey's terrible miss with an acrobatic attempt and also his face plant when trying to head the ball!!

Tough and very important game next week - come on United
