Home cup match played on 23 March 2014.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

United took on New Herrington at Plessy's in the cup hoping to avenge the double that Herrington done over United in the league.

It looked like United would be in the driving seat early on when a kick out by keeper Steve Barnes found Dan Musther on 6 minutes but his shot ended up in the side netting.

New Herrington nearly took the lead on 11 minutes when a shot from the edge of the box was brilliantly tipped wide by Steve Barnes but a minute later Herrington were in the lead. A ball played into the box was controlled and slotted into the corner with United giving too much time to the attacker.

On 35 minutes Herrington took a deserved 2-0 lead when a long ball over the top was met by the attacker and he deftly lifted over the diving Steve Barnes and into the net.

It could have been 3-0 on 41 minutes when another breakaway ended with a shot which cannoned off the bottom of the bar and bounced down just in front of the line and was cleared by United

United grouped together at half time and were level within 9 minutes of the restart. On 48 minutes Jonny Angus showed great control and quick feet and brought a foul from the defender in the box and Dan Musther coolly converted the resultant penalty.

On 54 minutes Jonny Angus played a ball in behind the Herrington defence that Gary Simmons controlled before beating a man and hammering it home.

Herrington were getting pushed further back by United but they regained the lead on 73 minutes when a cross from the left was turned in from 3 yards out.

United weren't going to give up though and levelled again on 77 minutes when Gary Simmons played the ball to Scott Stevenson and he finished with great aplomb

Then United took the lead for the first time in the match with 5 minutes remaining. Scott Stevenson's corner was met with a fantastic header by Iain Ray for the defenders second goal in two games

Herrington then hit the bar on 87 mins with a shot from the edge of the box but they managed an equaliser in the second minute of injury time. A very disputed goal as a clearance was met by an attacker who was the only man in the United half when the ball was played. The referee didn't give the offside and the attacker kept his composure to place it past Steve Barnes after running into the box.

A game of two halves which overall United probably deserved to win but a draw means that United are now 4 games unbeaten
