Away cup match played on 29 September 2013.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

Today the boys in the 1st half played some outstanding footy and it was very fruitful culminating in a 6 goal fest. Jack started it off with a great finish after a few minutes followed by a neat finish from Nathan F a couple of minutes later. More intense pressure brought Elliott a goal on about the 10 minute mark. It was attack, attack, attack and on about the 13th minute mark Nathan F was on the score sheet again. Jack was in the goals again with a screamer from outside the box on about the 18th minute then goal gave Nathan F his hat trick. Withernsea weren't getting a look in, in fact I think they only got into the last third once in the 1st half. Outstanding 30 minutes of attacking footy.
2nd half was a bit loose at times but it didn't stop the boys looking for goals which came in the form of a penalty after 5 minutes. Dominic was fowled inside the box and gladly took on the job with a powerful strike keeping it low giving the keeper no chance. 10 minutes later there was another penalty after one of their players saved with his hands from a great strike from Harry. Thomas was given the chance to take it but pulled it to the left of the post. It remained 7-0. It started getting a bit frustrating as again like last week a few boys were trying to dribble instead of looking for the simple pass, most of the time getting caught out and tackled when there was plenty of options around especially in the last third. Also the boys in the middle were getting too high up the pitch (I guess they all wanted to be in on the goal fest from the 1st half). Midfield lost it's shape a bit and it let Withernsea back into the game but fortunately from an attacking point of view they really lacked a finish. At least Haydn had more to do this half. Debutant Chief showed a lot of pace and skill culminating with his 1st goal for the team after about 17 minutes. 8-0 it remained for the rest of the game although Chief hit the upright and another shot hit the cross bar.
All in all a 100% improvement on last weeks performance albeit there's still a bit of work to do on keeping the game simple. There could have been a lot more goals if the right options were used as opposed to wanting to beat too many players. I couldn't really choose a Man of the Match. Tyler played well and kept his position well, Thomas also with a chance on goal in the 1st half and a few ventures up front. Charlie again seems to have so much more energy with some great ball control. Harry should have had at least 2 goals but seemed to want to trip over bumps on the pitch instead Lol. Elliot looked fairly solid in the middle as did Jack. Nathan Y looks like a good option on the right mid and Dom on the left. Saracen battled as ever up the right so did Regan when he had the chance. Great debut for Chief, Haydn to be fare didn't have too much to do but kept his concentration and finally Nathan F with another hat trick and for me maybe edged Man of the match as he also had a couple of clever passes which created some attacking play. Up the Warriors!! Roll on Bridlington next Sunday.
