Yes - what is that we had today - a game of football - do we all remember what that is?!?

So today started brightly - weather wise, and by that I mean it didn’t rain until we had kicked off and it was 20 mins in!

The boys needed that run out today! Did it go our way, pretty much not at all!

I’m going to take a positive for each child and an EBI (even better if) so something for them to work on!

Managers MotM - Harrison - lead the team well from the back, great footwork and runs forward too! EBI - after we concede goals give encouragement to the team, keep their heads up, get them playing as though it’s 0-0 always!

Parents Player - Reece - lead the line brilliantly today, stepped up in defence at the end too, and took your penalty like a PRO! Even when subbed for a short time, you lead the team from the sideline too, great encouragement! EBI - you watch that line when defending to help play the opposition offside!

Players player - Ahmed - played with passion all over the pitch today! Worked hard to defend and go forward - fantastic strike that unfortunately rattled the crossbar!!! EBI - you can arrive on time so we can integrate you into the plan for the day!

Matthew - strong, great challenges and a constant thorn in their side. We missed you when injured too! EBI - you don’t get injured is too obvious and not in your control - so, we need you to step up into a commanding role at the back when you have new people to play with :)

Wyatt - a tough game and positionally not your strongest position, but you played with great heart and spirit! EBI-you stand your ground, don’t dive in on those challenges

Chayley - strong in defence, a constant battler! Learning to partner with Matthew to your left this time! Watch the power on those free kicks you are taking! EBI - you don’t call the offside, it makes others in the team stop their runs.

Alex - I could tell you did the one touch training this week, you were a different player on that pitch today. Your control has improved immensely!!! I was really impressed! EBI - you call any team mates back so they are there for you to pass to!

Bradley - getting in the way, standing players up, you are making this position your own! EBI - we speed up your control on the ball so they cannot tackle you back!

Neil - did a job in midfield and on the wing today, before stepping up briefly at CB and then in goal! So a busy all round day for you! You handled each role marvellously! EBI - you work on the timing of your pass, you cannot take on every player like you are Zidane ;)

Phoenix - a quiet start today in the middle , but more impactful up front. Some great touches and forward balls too!! EBI - you keep that head up and keep those comms up, you need to be our lead comms guy!

Ollie h - a tough start and a lot of positions covered. Running forward and taking on their defence you showed us where you shine. Those runs can start in midfield, they don’t have to be solely from striker :) EBI - you give us that Ollie in all positions!!!

Ollie L - sat quite deep as a striker but great touches when on the ball , bigger impact when on for the wing! EBI - you pull Alex up to help you when you get crowded

Harry - you really suit a striker you make space and have a deft touch - and moving you there made a difference to our squad! It may be that you and Leo need to switch wings next time EBI - you tell me swapping wings could help etc! Speak up - you’re a very intelligent player!

Leo - a small hole in your foot that you quickly repaired. The bobbles not helping you one bit! EBI we can hear you even more on the pitch, your positionally brilliant, others need to see that!

Luke - good comms and great kicking today, not to mention countless saves keeping the cricket score down! Unlucky that several saves fell to one of 3 of their players each time EBI - you can guide your defence when players are moving or setting up etc, then push them up and out of your box with a big kick!!

Overall we showed some glimpses of hope, some great one touch passing, or great vision to play people in! We need to capitalise on these chances now and part of that is in the anticipation of the team, and part of it is down to team confidence, wanting to get to that ball first or even second was hardly ever visible today!

Yes a tough day at the office - but every child showed positive behaviours and attributes and the unwavering support from you parents is massive to these kids right now!

We will build them back and we will come back stronger than before!!

Let’s go bees!!! ??
