Home league match played on 08 December 2013.
Kicked off at 10:00 AM

The Galacticos named an unchanged 11 for an important and tricky tie at home to Frontline with thumbs up Vicarage on the bench for the first time in his career.

Frontline started brightly and forced a half chance early on from a corner that the away side blasted over the bar (The Galacticos Manager then missed the next 5 minutes of the game as he was trying to get the ball back from some old biddies back garden!). On 12 minutes a brilliant goal from Ratcliffe put the Galacticos 1-0 up. Ratcliffe and Lawes combined 25 yards out and Ratty blasted the ball into the top left hand corner. The goal woke up the home side and they began to play some good football with Lawes, Orr, Ratcliffe, McCormack and Stoneham all linking up well and causing the away team numerous problems. Yeo was sitting in just behind barking orders and breaking up all of Frontlines efforts to trouble the Galacticos defence. On 25 minutes it was 2-0 when Stoneham who was a constant nuisance forced a mistake from the back four and drove to the byline and pulled the ball back for McCormack to tap in and get his 14th goal of the season. The away side tried to increase the tempo and grab a goal before half time but Humphreys had the talented Frontline winger in his pocket and Murphy, Clark and Adams where not giving an inch by consistently winning every header.

HALF TIME WITHAM GALACTICOS 2 FRONTLINE 0

The second half begun and it was Frontline who began on the front foot trying to force an early goal and on 58 minutes they got the goal. A long ball made its way through the back four and the winger lobbed the ball over Cannock to reduce the deficit. The Galacticos responded superbly and began to move the ball around and put Frontline back into retreat. Stoneham was still working tirelessly up top, with Lawes and Ratcliffe putting in alot of legs to cover all areas of the pitch. Thumbs up Vicarage was brought on after 64 minutes to protect the back four and give Yeo more freedom to push forward and get the killer 3rd goal. On 75 minutes Lawes got the goal he deserved when tapping home from 3 yards again after good work from Stoneham and 3 minutes later a ball into the oppositions 18 yard box by Yeo was cleared but only to Stoneham who placed the ball in the bottom corner and in the process get his 8th goal in 3 games.

FULL TIME WITHAM GALACTICOS 4 FRONTLINE 1

A very important 3 points gained to keep pressure on the leaders and again we showed super character and determination to kill the game off. Again every player deserves a pat on the back for there performances on Sunday but a few special mentions:- Jack Murphy was superb in the heart of the defence with some vital interceptions and strong challenges. Jamie Adams who has had to play out of position and put in two very solid performances. Adam Ratcliffe who didnt just score a superb goal but also put alot of work in to support Adams at the back. Jamie Lawes covered every inch of the pitch not just to create chances but to protect the back four. Mitchell with a captains performance of vocal direction and strong, hard challenges. Jack Stoneham who was constantly a nuisance and grabbed two assists from sheer pressure on the defenders and even substitute thumbs up who came on for 25 minutes and did what he does best....Stevie turns

Man of the match was the ever consistent Charlie Humphreys who put in a superb performance to eliminate the threat of Frontlines best player. Charlie completely dominated his opposite number a can confidently say he had him in his pocket! All round a very good performance from everyone and we can now look forward to a potential giant killing result on Sunday against Sporting 77 in the Charlie Turnball cup on Sunday!
