Witham faced old foes Terling away and knowing 3 points would win the title and promotion to the Premier Division. Witham had a full strength 16 to pick from and plenty of support on the sidelines.
Witham were quick out of the blocks as instructed and had attempts on goal from Orr and Yeo. On 5 minutes Galacticos had the perfect start when Humphrys through ball found Yeo inside the box he cut inside his man and blasted home from 12 yards to send the Galctico faithful ecstatic. Witham continued to dominate with Lawes finding lots of space out wide and he came close himself when the keeper saved well. Terling bolstered numbers in the midfield to try and disrupt the play and got an equaliser on 32 minutes, a cleared corner met the centre back over 40 yards out and on the volley his shot flew in underneath the diving Cannock. Witham reacted well winning numerous corners but somehow Terling held on to half time.

Witham started the second half how they ended the first and restored the lead on 47 minutes when Orr's superb ball went in behind the back four...the keeper looked favourite for it but Yeo's speed and sliding attempt piped the keeper to it and the ball went through his legs to make it 2-1. Witham freshened it up introducing Holder and Johnson then Panting a few minutes later. Witham looked stronger with Holder controlling the middle of the park and with Johnsons touch and vision combined with Pantings pace it was a dangerous combination. Panting nearly scored with his first touch when he picked up a long ball cut in front of his defender and ran on goal but he was well tackled just as he was about to shot. On 66 Minutes it was 3-1 when Stoneham picked the ball up deep and delivered a pin point delivery that was met at the back post by the head of Lawes who placed it into the top left hand corner of the net. 10 minutes later Lawes turned provider when his in swinging corner was met at the back post by the head of Clark who powered it home to get his first goal of the season. It was far from over and was nervy when Terling pulled a goal back to reduce the deficit to 2 goals with 10 minutes to play when Cannock was dispossessed as he tried to pick the ball up and it was scrambled home. Witham held there nerves and to wrap things up Yeo got his third hat trick in three weeks on 88 minutes when he slid in from 4 yards after good work down the left from Adams and Lawes. The final whistle went and Witham Galacticos were crowned Champions, the champagne was out, there was sing songs, team pictures and even the bumps all before we made our way back to the changing rooms were the chants and the celebrations were just beginning!!!

CHAMPIONSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS...What more can be said, winning the league on our rivals turf, losing one game all season and with games to spare :) It was a superb performance by everyone today and throughout the season to achieve what we have. We have grown as a group and have learnt not just to play good football but also how to dig deep and win. Everyone should be proud of todays achievement and roll on next weeks cup semi final as we aim to win the double.
