In an exhilarating league encounter at Kings Leadership Academy on 4th May 2025, Woolston Rovers Thundercats emerged victorious against Irlam Vale U11 Opals Girls with a final score of 4-2. The match kicked off at 10:00 am, showcasing a thrilling display of youth football that kept spectators on the edge of their seats throughout the 60 minutes of play.
Woolston Rovers lined up in a 3-4-1 formation, designed to provide a solid defensive base while allowing for fluid attacking transitions. Grace Jones took her position as the goalkeeper, with a back three comprising Martha Darnton in central defence flanked by Isabella Charnley on the right and Nellie Proctor on the left. The midfield quartet featured Lexie Davies and Lyla Carr on the right and left flanks respectively, while Izzy Acklam-Davies and Heidi Whaley operated centrally.
