Worthing Dynamo U13 Black hosted Barnham Trojans U13 Blue at Olivers Meadow on 17 May 2026, with kick-off at 12:00pm in a 70-minute friendly 11-a-side encounter. The home side fought hard but ultimately succumbed 4-2 to their visitors in a match marked by early setbacks and numerous tactical changes.

Worthing Dynamo lined up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, deploying Jenson Blackman in goal. The defensive line consisted of Bailey Freshwater at right back, Ellis Williams and Toby Killick as central defenders, and Tom Thurgood on the left. The midfield double pivot featured Louie Papouis and Teddy Gill tasked with both defensive cover and linking play. Ahead of them, the attacking midfield trio comprised Toby Rennie on the right, Archie Parker-Muckle centrally, and Theo Phillips on the left, supporting lone striker Harrison Flanagan. The substitutes bench included Isaiah Hatton and Finley Stevens.

The match began disastrously for Worthing Dynamo as Barnham Trojans struck within the opening minute, setting the tone for a challenging afternoon. The early goal forced the home side to chase the game from the outset.

By the 22nd minute, Worthing Dynamo made a double substitution, bringing on Isaiah Hatton for Louie Papouis and Finley Stevens replacing Theo Phillips. This tactical tweak aimed to inject fresh energy into midfield and the left attacking position.

Despite these changes, Barnham Trojans doubled their lead in the 27th minute, extending their advantage and putting Worthing Dynamo under increasing pressure.

Further adjustments followed in the 35th minute with Louie Papouis returning to the field in place of Teddy Gill, and Theo Phillips moved to the right wing m. These moves suggested a desire to regain control and creativity in midfield and attack.

The first half concluded at the 35-minute mark, with Barnham Trojans leading 2-0. However, Worthing Dynamo responded immediately after the break. Just three minutes into the second half, Theo Phillips found the net to reduce the deficit and spark renewed hope for the hosts.

Barnham Trojans quickly restored their two-goal cushion with a goal in the 40th minute, reasserting their dominance and dampening Worthing Dynamo’s momentum.

In the 43rd minute, Theo Phillips was substituted off for Toby Rennie, signalling another tactical shift as the home side sought to balance attack and defence.

At the interval between halves, a further substitution saw Teddy Gill replace Ellis Williams in central defence at the 46th minute, perhaps to shore up the backline after conceding multiple goals.

The visitors extended their lead once more in the 51st minute, scoring their fourth goal and putting the game firmly out of reach.

Worthing Dynamo responded immediately with a goal of their own in the 52nd minute, courtesy of substitute Finley Stevens, who made an instant impact by halving the deficit once again.

Shortly after, Theo Phillips returned to the pitch for Teddy Gill, indicating continued tactical reshuffling in midfield.

The final substitution came in the 59th minute, with Teddy Gill replacing Toby Rennie, as Worthing Dynamo continued to search for a way back into the contest.

Despite their efforts and two goals on the board, Worthing Dynamo were unable to overcome the early and sustained pressure from Barnham Trojans, who took the spoils with a 4-2 victory. The match was officiated by referee Adie Robinson, who oversaw a game full of energy and numerous substitutions as both sides sought to find their rhythm.
