Worthing Dynamo U14 Black hosted Felpham Colts U14 Blue at Durrington High School on the morning of 18 October 2026, with kick-off at 9:30am in a league fixture that saw the home side emerge victorious by four goals to two after a pulsating 70-minute contest. The match was officiated by referee Daniel Nitecki and played in the traditional 11-a-side format.

Worthing Dynamo lined up in a 3-2-3-2 formation, deploying three defenders at the back with Ellis Williams on the right, Archie Parker-Muckle centrally, and Harrison Flanagan on the left. The midfield featured two central midfielders, Leo Whyatt and Isaiah Hatton, tasked with both defensive duties and linking play. Ahead of them, three attacking midfielders operated across the right, centre, and left channels: Teddy Gill, Ben Riggott, and Finley Stevens respectively. Up front, the strike partnership consisted of Theo Phillips on the right and Ethan Whattingham on the left, expected to spearhead the attack and convert chances. The goalkeeper was Jenson Blackman, charged with organising the defence and keeping the opposition at bay. The substitutes available were Elliott McCabe, Bailey Freshwater, Sameer Manro, and Toby Rennie.

The match began with Felpham Colts taking an early advantage when they were awarded a penalty in the 21st minute, which they duly converted to put Worthing Dynamo behind. The home side responded swiftly with a tactical substitution just a minute later, bringing Elliott McCabe on for Isaiah Hatton and moving Archie in to midfield while Elliott took his normal place at centre back in an attempt to regain control of the midfield.

As the first half progressed, Worthing Dynamo made further changes to inject fresh energy. At the half time mark , Toby Rennie replaced Leo Whyatt, Sameer Manro came on for Finley Stevens, and Bailey Freshwater took the place of Teddy Gill.

Shortly after the interval, at 41 minutes, Harrison Flanagan was substituted off for Leo Whyatt, who returned to the field to bolster the defensive midfield area. Worthing Dynamo’s persistence paid off just after half-time when Ben Riggott scored from inside the box in the 45th minute, levelling the score and lifting the home crowd’s spirits.

The momentum continued into the second half as Theo Phillips struck in the 47th minute to give Worthing Dynamo the lead for the first time in the match. The home side then made another tactical switch in the 52nd minute, with Isaiah Hatton replacing Phillips to maintain midfield stability.

Bailey Freshwater was withdrawn in the 63rd minute, making way for Teddy Gill to return to the pitch and add attacking impetus. Just two minutes later, Ethan Whattingham showcased his individual skill with a solo goal, extending Worthing Dynamo’s advantage and putting them firmly in control.

The final stages saw further substitutions as Finley Stevens replaced Leo Whyatt in the 68th minute, and Theo Phillips returned to the field for Ethan Whattingham. Phillips wasted no time making an impact, scoring again in the 69th minute to put the home side 4-1 ahead.

Felpham Colts managed to pull one back in the 71st minute, but Worthing Dynamo’s lead was never seriously threatened. The final substitution came in the 75th minute when Ethan Whattingham re-entered the fray, replacing Sameer Manro.

Theo Phillips was named player of the match for his decisive contributions, including two crucial goals that helped secure Worthing Dynamo’s victory. The home side’s tactical flexibility and attacking prowess ultimately proved too much for Felpham Colts, who fought hard but left Durrington High School with a 4-2 defeat.
