Home league match played on 06 October 2013.
Kicked off at 11:00 AM

2 minutes extra time played.

So Sunday morning was here again and so were Saltaire 1sts, 2nds, 3rds & reserves!!!

Salts got the game under way and it was clear that this wasnt the same team we Peppered 8-2 on the opening Game.  Without creating any real chances Salts gained most  of the ball and looked in control. Yeadon defended well and the composure paid off. After 10, Athletic were on the attack down the right hand side & with Scott Norton Laying the ball off to an onside Oli Leslie who rounded the keeper to slot home into an empty net.

1-0

There wasnt a great deal happening between then & the 40th minute, however this changed big time.

Scott picked up the ball & from all of 30 Yards scored a screamer. The ball hitting the cross bar & the net crossing the line but bouncing back into play, the ref played on without allowing a certain goal. From the same passage of play and the ball played up field, Athletic were caught out and Simon was beaten from the attack to leave the game equal.

1-1

From the restart Yeadon got themselves back in front, Oli Leslie playing in Jack Roberts to notch his first of the season & i think his first ever.

2-1

With Scott still smarting from the decision not to allow the goal he picked up the ball and fired a shot somewhere towards the goal, after a slight (Massive) deflection the keeper was left stranded and at least we had our two goal advantage back.

3-1

Half Time 3-1.

The half time orders was only to gain more possesion & that not to conceed another goal. After 2 sodding minutes Saltaire's no 9 fired one in from the right hand side after a lack of cencentration.

3-2

After 55 minutes the game could have been all square again, but a fine save from the Simon Wintle (Speroni, Jesus, Sutliffe, whatever) diving to his left hand side prevented the ball hitting the roof of the net. This proved to be the game changing moment and Athletic capitalised with  a flury of goals.

Simon collected the ball and sent it longdown field, Oli ducked out of the way and Scott collected the ball, no need to say more.

4-2

Oli then found himself hunting down the goal and after a cross/ shot (defo both, a real shocker) Scott tapped in for his 3rd of the day & his 9th of the season.

5-2

Within a couple of minutes Yeadon were awarded a penalty, Scott Noton took the ball and ..... nothing, straight down the middle! The keeper saved, the ball came out to Jake Humberstone, chasing his first of the season faced an open goal. I will let you fill in the blanks H... Wide & not so Han.....!!!! Still 5-2

Jake then made up for the error by providing a pass for the 6th goal of the game. Liam Keen pushing forward after telling Alexis Mcinnes in no uncertain terms to "F*cking stay where you are", placed the ball past the keeper with a strikers finish.

6-2

The game was then wrapped up with Adam Otway providing the pass for Oli Leslie to get the legitimate goal of the game, smashing in with a right foot drive the keeper never moved.

7-2

Not mentioned him in the report but it was an outstanding performance by Ricky Carter at Left back that kept us in and that won us the game. A solid display and unlucky not to get MOM. The ref missed the clear goal and the obvious choice!

Full Time 7-2.
