On 14 March 2026, Zimmerman United travelled to Githurai Pand Pieri Ground to face local rivals Zimmerman All Stars FC in a keenly contested league away fixture, kicking off at 4:00pm. The match ended in a thrilling 4-2 victory for Zimmerman United after 90 minutes of pulsating football, witnessed by a crowd of 600.

Zimmerman United lined up in a 4-1-2-3 formation, deploying a solid defensive quartet with Mauricito in goal, flanked by Munene Chris at right back and Njoroge Collins on the left, while Kevin Andrew and Gichaga Norman held the central defensive positions. Ahead of the back four, k pinto operated as the lone central midfielder, tasked with shielding the defence and dictating play from deep. The midfield was further bolstered by Daniel Kilonzo on the left and Vincent (Vinni) on the right, both playing as attacking midfielders expected to supply the front three. Up front, the trio consisted of Oti Z. on the right wing, de Clark leading the line as striker, and M Naista on the left wing, all charged with stretching the opposition defence and converting chances. On the bench, Zimmerman United had M Stano, Mutuku Onesmus, Mbala Benson, Kerri K, and Samoi Baron ready to influence the game as substitutes.

The match burst into life early on with de Clark opening the scoring in the 12th minute from the penalty spot, calmly dispatching the spot-kick to give Zimmerman United an early advantage. Just seven minutes later, de Clark doubled his tally with a spectacular strike from outside the box, expertly guided in with his right foot following a precise long pass from Daniel Kilonzo, who demonstrated excellent vision and delivery.

Zimmerman United continued to press their advantage as Gichaga Norman stepped up to score a stunning direct free-kick in the 27th minute. The central defender’s left-footed effort from outside the area curled beautifully into the net, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance. The visitors’ dominance was further emphasised in the 36th minute when k pinto capitalised on a close-range opportunity inside the box, converting a free-kick delivered by Njoroge Collins to extend the lead to 4-0.

The first half concluded with Zimmerman United firmly in control, having executed their game plan with precision and clinical finishing.

However, the second half saw Zimmerman All Stars FC respond with renewed vigour. In the 50th minute, they pulled a goal back thanks to a defensive mistake from Zimmerman United, which allowed the home side to reduce the deficit and inject some urgency into the contest.

Zimmerman United made a flurry of substitutions in the 58th minute, bringing on M Stano for Vincent (Vinni), Mutuku Onesmus replacing Daniel Kilonzo, Mbala Benson coming on for M Naista, and Kerri K taking the place of Oti Z. These changes aimed to refresh the attacking impetus and maintain control of the match.

Despite the changes, Zimmerman All Stars FC managed to find the net again in the 72nd minute, albeit through an own goal, which narrowed the scoreline to 4-2 and set up a tense finale.

Zimmerman United made a further tactical substitution in the 75th minute, with Samoi Baron replacing Mutuku Onesmus, seeking to shore up the midfield and see out the victory.

The match concluded with Zimmerman United holding on to their two-goal cushion, securing a valuable away win in a fiercely competitive encounter. De Clark’s early brace and overall influence earned him the well-deserved Player of the Match accolade, highlighting his pivotal role in the triumph.
