History
Abu Dhabi City F.C. was founded in 2014 by ADUG, with the intention of creating a new football club in Abu Dhabi that could compete at the highest level. The club's first season was in the UAE Second Division, which they won in 2015, earning promotion to the UAE Pro League.
In their first season in the UAE Pro League, Abu Dhabi City F.C. finished in 11th place. The following season, they finished in 9th place, and in 2018, they finished in 6th place, their highest finish to date.
