AFC POPPIES the supporters team of Kettering Town FC.

AFC Poppies are the supporters team of Blue Square Premier side Kettering Town.

The team was set up in July 2008 when Kettering Town supporters showed a interest in player other supporters teams.

Darren Young was named as manager and the team held their first training session on the 17th July 2008 where the turn out was healthy and the team began to take off.

On the 31st August 2008 AFC Poppies played their first game against the supporters team from Nuneaton Borough. AFC Poppies won the match by eight goals to nil and further fixtures were played against Kidderminster and Cambridge.

The team continued to train throughout 2008 and 2009 and entered two sides into the Kettering Town 7 a-side competition and both sides made it into the knock out stages.

In July 2009 a number of fixtures were announced and a number of new players joined the squad.

Since the team was formed in 2008 they have been backed by three sponsors that has enabled them to buy a full home kit and training equipment.

The teams main sponsors are Ar Tarn Private Hire.

The teams other two sponsors are Funky Town Grooves and Hammy Young.
