Alicante City Football Club was founded in 2018 by Soccer Smart, a company that runs football academies in Spain and the UK. The club's first team was formed by players from Soccer Smart's academy in Alicante.
The club's first season in the Segunda Regional Valenciana was a successful one, as they finished in third place in their group. They then went on to win the promotion playoffs, earning a place in the Primera Regional Valenciana for the 2019-20 season.
The club's second season in the Primera Regional Valenciana was also a successful one, as they finished in second place in their group. They then went on to win the promotion playoffs, earning a place in the Tercera División RFEF for the 2020-21 season.
