Atherton Collieries Football Club is a semi-professional football club based in Atherton, Greater Manchester, England. The club was founded in 1906 and currently plays in the Northern Premier League Division One South.
History
Atherton Collieries were founded in 1906 as Atherton Recreation Club. They changed their name to Atherton Collieries in 1910. The club played in the Lancashire Combination until 1978, when they were promoted to the Northern Premier League. Atherton Collieries have won the Northern Premier League Division One South on three occasions, in 1982, 1990 and 2018.
The club's most famous player is probably Jimmy Armfield, who went on to play for England and Liverpool. Armfield started his career at Atherton Collieries in 1952.

Season 2022-23
