The club was founded in 1901 as Belper Town. They changed their name to Belper United in 1970, and added the Juventus suffix in 2013 to reflect the club's Italian heritage.
Belper United have won the Derby City Football League on four occasions, in 1971, 1994, 2003, and 2018. They have also reached the final of the FA Vase on two occasions, in 1993 and 2014.
