Boroughbridge Reserves were founded in 1972 as a reserve team for Boroughbridge Town. They initially played in the York and District League, before moving to the West Yorkshire Association Football League in 1984.
The team has won the West Yorkshire Association Football League Alliance Division 1 title on two occasions, in 2007-08 and 2013-14. They have also reached the final of the West Riding County Challenge Trophy on four occasions, but have never won the competition.
