History
Carrington City FC was founded in 1972 by a group of local residents. The club initially played in the Derbyshire Amateur League, before moving up to the Central Midlands League in 1980. In 1991, the club won promotion to the Northern Counties East League.
In 2007, Carrington City FC won promotion to the Northern Premier League Division One South. The club has since established itself in the division, finishing in the top half of the table on several occasions.
